Saturday vs WBA was down to quality in and around the box and our strikers being bullied.
I think that's a lazy thing to say RE leaders, and an easy get out. If we didn't have any leaders in the team we wouldn't have had one of the best records in the league post Christmas.
The leaders (Cook, JCS, Chair etc) need quality around them, and we're all hoping Varane and the two new players will bring that. |

As you say, we had one of the best records in the league post Christmas, but Saturday's team was largely the same players so it wasn't a question of quality. Look at the difference in our performance vs WBA on Saturday and our game at the end of last season. Largely the same players but nowhere near the same level of performance. We need consistency in that regard and a lot of that in my opinion comes from on-pitch leaders setting the tone, I don't think we have enough of that.
However, I also think a lot of that is due to modern football not having a focus on developing those skills, so not specifically a QPR problem.
Hopefully, adding the new players adds quality in other areas to make up for these shortfalls. |  |
