There is no glimmer of hope. This group of players is not going to suddenly care enough to get 8 wins out of the next 20 games.
The bigger concern is not relegation but that Marti will walk away and we will find ourselves in L1 with the 2024 budget all blown this year fancifully trying to save ourselves and god only knows who sourced to try and rebuild the club. | | | |

Different FFP rules in League 1 so the owners can spend what they want, it would only be an issue if we got promoted straight back.
Hopefully we can keep Marti and give him money and time to rebuild the squad in league 1 so we come back up with a young skillful squad. |  | | |

Owners can invest money but the rules on wages/turnover are much stricter so we will have to rebuild the squad without being able to even match the wages some other L1 clubs will be offering.
Of course it’s actually beneficial for this club which has lost its mind and needs to be burned to the ground, but this is not a 1/2 year turnaround project we are talking to get back up again. | | | |

As I understand it, the difference is that in league 1 any money which is put in to the club by the owners is considered turnover so long as it's not a loan, you don't even have to pretend it's sponsorship.
So we could terminate contracts and buy in young talent, start developing a decent team then in 2-3 years time promoted with a squad that's hopefully better than what we have and packed with saleable assets to help with the championship FFP rules.
So relegation doesn't mean we're going to fall down the leagues although I imagine knowing us we'll find a way to screw it up. | | | |

Just one query - why was Ainsworth a disaster and the cause of all our woes, while it's all the players' fault for Cifuentes' disastrous recent run of results and horrendous two goals in six games? |
I doubt if a single rangers fan at the start of this season thought that Armstrong and dykes would score enough goals.
Ainsworth said they would both get at least ten each. Apart from anything else, that’s a pretty low bar for any striker at a professional football club, especially the penalty taker, who would expect to be gifted at least 5 penalties in a season.
It was appalling judgement from Ainsworth and those above him, there is not even any back up to those two and that is on them. |  |
