Brutal Cooper comments on BBC 18:42 - Apr 30 with 6987 views | ReslovenSwan1 | "I thought we were excellent today, the game plan came off perfectly. "We were very happy for Swansea to have the ball, we wanted to control the game without the ball, which we did brilliantly. "5-1 is obviously a great result, but to be honest it could have been more, it should have been 5-1 at half-time. "We know Swansea have a lot of the ball, but also knew they also concede a hell of a lot of chances and a hell of a lot of goals." No one can argue with that. Martin is not adapting after similar away thrashings at Fulham Sheff Utd and Bournemouth. 2 or 3 signings are not going to solve it. Grimes and Downes are highly rated defensive midfielders. 27 shots 13 on target. Not sustainable. Martins changes made it worse not better. Swansea lost to QPR in the FA cup 5-1. Declan John, Asoro and McKay never kicked the ball for Swansea again. [Post edited 30 Apr 2022 18:44]

Brutal Cooper comments on BBC on 16:45 - May 1 by Dr_Parnassus | Who do you mean by “we”? The person I posted it for clearly had no idea, hence I showed him. He seemed to suggest that Martin was personally being slagged off from day 1 instead of constructive criticism surrounding the tactics which still hold water to this day. I don’t have a remit to be entertaining, I do not get paid by this site nor do I have any aims for success on the site. Being self indulgent is perfectly fine as a result and make no apologies for it. You have only recently changed your tune this week. Not sure if you expected people wouldn’t notice. None of his excuses have been valid, they have been laughable. Equally as laughable as those repeating them as nauseam. |
I can change my mind on anything and prepared to do this. There is trouble in the camp I did not see coming with Mr Williams (coach) and Mr Allen getting their P45. I am an open book. There have been signs of progress. 'We' means myself and (probably) others. I was surprised at the January signing of Burns a teenager who has contributed little after the flop Williams another teenager contributed little before him. I expect Cameron Evans might be better than both of them and at least loves the club. I expected Ntcham to kick on. Lack of athleticism in not a valid excuses. Martin in the manager and made 6 or 7 signing o already. Your self promotion is tiresome. The case against Martin is not yet proven. Yesterday has increased my doubts about him for sure as he could do nothing to block the Forest runners get at his makeshift defence almost at will. I would if Winter bring in a football technician to work out what was happening on the field. Clearly some players were not doing their jobs properly on the day. Three changes made things worse not better.

Indeed you can, and often do so as it appears; despite being vehemently opposed and combative to it prior. Your lack of acknowledgment that you got it spectacularly wrong leads itself to you criticising others for being right. I suppose it’s the ying and yang effect. My self promotion is my business, if you don’t like it then you know what to do. The case against Russell is absolutely proven, the case of course is that what he is doing IS NOT working. All that case needs is a review of his three seasons in charge of football clubs. You have seen it late, just like some others clearly are realising today. But just like them, the way to go about it isn’t to lash out at others who were spot on from the start.

Two big wins v Cardiff city. Some big win against poorer teams where Swansea have struggled in the past. Some improvement in pass accuracy. Development of Piroe. Development of Obafemi. Development of Downes. Development of Cabango. Christie has been decent. Improvement in the underage teams. Settlement of the Trust issue New investment Better recruitment despite some poor trading in January. In theory at least Martin has learned from his mistakes judging by his comments yesterday. Mid table status in a transitional season (if you accept that principle) Less dependence on elite loan players. Loans were poor however. There have been some decent recent performances against lower quality teams. Away wins WBA, Coventry, Millwall. Poor performances against the better sides have audited 'Martinball'. He has the summer to review these big beatings. Fulham H Sheff utd A Forest H and A Bournemouth A. Inexplicably the defence is still makeshift and weak. It needs a serious up grade.

Brutal Cooper comments on BBC on 16:28 - May 1 by Treforys_Jack | Nothing is confusing me so cut out the condescending tone. I wasn't really referring to you anyway as I stated way back in the thread, I was referring to Vetchy who had the knives out from day 1. Feel free to retort as I know you'll be unable to resist as I know your penchant for having the last word, so I'll leave it at that. Hopefully we'll see a more improved and consistent season next year. Have a good day. |
once again I did not have the knives out from fah 1 and I think it was another poster who called him Martine I gave always tried to post with facts and data without name calling.... as I said and keep saying it was ok last season to criticise and ca the then manager names but as soon as anyone dared to criticise Martinit was wrong. last season we were barely out of the top6 this season we struggled to score or get wins I sat through a boring nil nil at home to Millwa yet people on here were entrusting about the better football we were supposedly watching . I support SCFC not the individual who is the manager.. for me I didn't see how things were better...from my research it seemed the managers focus was possession above results believe g the high possession would lead to results....what did that proved yesterday Please stop this nonsense that I had a "vendetta " from day 1 as it's not the case.

It’s the reaction of many people who are realising that certain people that they attacked, were right all along. Instead of holding their hands up to it, I guess it’s easier for some to just change history and blame you for being right by pretending you are lucky and you just happen to be right - and that it was said for sinister purposes. So you can never come out of that situation justified, it’s designed that way. You are either wrong and they call you out for it and saying you were a negative fan that was proven wrong… or you are proven right and they say you just happened to be right, but are negative and a bad fan anyway. This is largely from the “give him 10 games” mob… that slowly turned into 20 games, then 6 months, then the season, then until the following Xmas and then 4 transfer windows. I guess some don’t feel they can extend it any further to delay the obvious.. so attacking others for being right instead. It’s awfully sad.

I read the first two and stopped, hope you don't mind. First one - This is the worst Cardiff team in what, 2 decades? We beat a team twice who are 19th, hardly the sign of great progress. Happy to do it of course, but hardly the achievement you make it out to be. Secondly - struggled against poorer teams in the past? What kind of past? recent? The bottom 5 last year was: Huddersfield (3 points) Derby (4 points) Wycombe (4 points) Rotherham (6 points) Sheff Wed (4 points) 21 points from a possible 30. Champions type form that would get you around 96 points. Season before the bottom 5 were:- Hull (4 points) Wigan (6 points) Charlton (6 points) Barnsley (4 points) Birmingham (6 points) 26 points from a possible 30. Record breaking Champions type form that would get you around 119 points. Maybe you have become accustomed to Dr P being away and sneaking these things past people and passing them off as fact? The cash is in Winters safe or has already been spent. It becomes a 'debt' when someone asks for the money back. They can ask for it back but needs someone to spend £10m on Swansea players as Winter has no money. I doubt it will happen. Silverstein and Levien group say they want to buy extra shares with it and will not take the money back. You do not believe them. That is your choice. According to you they should heve been dragged through the courts by now, It never happened either. I listen to what people say an take it seriously. "We will never sell our shares" (Trust 2105). They have never sold any shares 2022. "We will buy new shares" 2021 Levien. We shall see what happens. [Post edited 2 May 2022 19:49]

I do not mind at all if you do not read any or part of my posts. My posts counteract contrived narratives created by anonymous forum posters which have harmed the Trust, owners, past owners and reputation of the club as a whole. I expect some abuse of course and spin. I had not noticed you had been away. Potter struggled early in his tenure at home you might remember introducing a new style and not very good players he signed. I recall a defeat at home against Ipswich who were bottom 2-3. The following season Cooper had a very poor spell at home September 2019 to the end of the year after beating Leeds away . Several loses and drab performances at home to Forest, Stoke, Brentford , Millwall and boring draws Barnsely, Blackburn and Reading . Big loses loses away to Brentford and WBA culminating in a 5-1 thrashing at QPR in the FA cup. Coopers Swansea picked up with Guehi Brewster and Gallagher arriving. [Post edited 2 May 2022 20:13]

We could have won that Ipswich game 6-3. 73% possession. 19 shots but only 3 on target. That was Dan James first big game that made people take notice. Full game still up online for those who want to take a trip down memory lane. Grimes at left back, Roberts on the wing. Flynn Downes came on for the last 10 minutes. https://www.swanseacity.com/news/swans-2-ipswich-3-full-match Results under Cooper didn't improve with the signings of Gallagher, Guehi and Brewster. Not until the season returned from suspension, and later the system change to the wingbacks. The January-March period was as poor as it got for points per game under Cooper. I take the Trust seriously and they have had a very poor lat 7 years. I noted that the settlement with the other owners as good news and a sign of progress after the years of PR spin and hype ended. There has been investment cash. Winter has already spent it. There are no plans to turn it into debt judging by the comments of Winter and Silverstein. Silverstein spoke directly to me in a pod cast and said he was not here for a short term profit.

As I say (ignoring the unrelated trust waffle): There has been no conversion - there is no investment - it is currently a loan. Facts, not verbal claims.

It is a matter of semantics. Winter has the money and used it to do things that needed doing. It is technically a 'loan note'. I do not know why you and others are so up tight about this? I expect it came as a bit of a disappointment to you. Th forum have been regularly told that the US people will never invest as part of the fake narrative that was developed 2016 on wards. I do not know it the CLN is recorded as a debt in the accounts.

Claim: You said we improved this season against the bottom teams. Fact: We have fared worse this season against the bottom teams than we have for years. Claim: You said we picked up after we signed Gallagher, Brewster and Guehi Fact: We were top after Coopers first 10 games in charge without them, 6th by match day 18, where we stayed. We did not “pick up”, we maintained.

Incorrect. Cooper got to 2nd in the leagues on a great early run with Borja even playing well. Form fell off a cliff after the Leeds Utd away win. Between late September and the end of the year form and performances were very patchy. Cooper had some tough times at Swansea and seems to have improved as a coach. It is a pity he chose to jump ship. [Post edited 2 May 2022 22:51]

Nope, completely correct. Form goes up and down all season, that’s football. As stated we were top after 10 games without them - we maintained 6th position with them. Cooper has had continuous improvement throughout his career. It’s a theme in his 3 seasons. Season 1 - 1.53 points per game. 6th. Play off semi Season 2 - 1.74 points per game. 4th. Play off Final Season 3 - 2.08 points per game. 3rd. ????? The best manager in the league by some considerable distance. What do you mean it was a pity? You have been saying it was good for the club that he left. This isn’t another about turn is it?
