Hostile Takeover Bid (M.E.N latest) on 14:58 - Aug 12 with 3596 viewsSandyman

Where's the money coming from? A question that was asked weeks ago and still remains unanswered to all.

Hostile Takeover Bid (M.E.N latest) on 15:05 - Aug 12 with 3557 viewsjudd

Daily Telegraph 5th August 2021:
“Jarvis said he himself had been on the “heated” Zoom call and that he could not recall the alleged comments being made by Curran, adding: “I don’t think, if he did say it, that he meant it in the way that it would be perceived.”
MEN 12th August 2021:
“Mr Jarvis said: "My client said 'several board members were small-minded and wanted managed decline instead of returning to League One'.”

Daily Telegraph 5th August 2021:
“Curran did not respond to requests for comment after the claims against him were put to him via text message.

That followed a bizarre phone call with Telegraph Sport in which he said he had “nothing to do with Rochdale”.
MEN 12th August 2021:
“"It is clear our acquisition of shares in Rochdale AFC cannot under any circumstances be likened to the situations at Bury and other clubs which have been left weakened from owners.

"If anything the board will be the demise of Rochdale AFC if they continue to act in the manner in which they have been.

"Furthermore, we have paid in excess of £1 million to date in consideration for shares, due diligence and legal costs.”

And:
"We have repeatedly reiterated to the club and the supporters' trust, that we are 100 percent committed to Rochdale AFC and want to work with them going forward through these challenging financial times many clubs are facing; this offer extends to Mr Lloyd as MP of Rochdale who I feel it would be beneficial to at least have a conversation with us prior to making any unfounded allegations and statements based on what he has read on Twitter."

Hmmm...

Lies and more lies, for your mouth piece Jarvis to answer.

Curran you are a shyster, answer the question 'where did you get your money from when it is clear that you have no clear source of income' and question 2, why not just own 30 or 40% of the club, if you are such a good and decent businessman, why do you need 50.1%, if you are not set to asset strip the club. Question 3, Why are you hiding your business history and back ground, if the Dale as not nothing to worry about and you have Rochdale interest at heart? Try BS these questions. Finally why don't you get the message, the club and fans don't want you near the club?

PS we know the sort of people you are linked with Lee Power who claim close to destroying Swindon Town and Paul Manley, the disbarred accountant, The Roses, who have dodgy history , especially when you look at Morton House Management and the other two extremly dodgy directors. Then there is Bottomley who was so unpopular he got voted off the board and effectively sacked as CEO.

Interesting quote from Jarvis
"He said that the 'rumours, misinformation and speculation on social media and the forums' which Mr Lloyd describes as 'jarring' were the result of 'several individuals breaching the non-disclosure agreement which is in place between ourselves and the club, a matter which we will address legally with those individuals in due course. "

Based on the backlog in our court system, could well be C22nd before our Alex gets his day

So how does Jarvis know that we sold Humphrey's and Rathbone below market value? Surely only the board know those figures

Not sure his football knowledge ever extended to market valuations of players. Or knowing the purpose of a league competition. Or identifying the first team manager was way way out of his depth.

However, when it comes to murky practices, there is a proven track record, there is history and there is the very recent past.

How did the shareholders' data fall into the hands of those with no legal right to know it? Who obtained it, when and how? These questions may point to unlawful acts, possibly acts of criminality.

As I say, murky. And that's without looking as far as agents and penniless 'investors' of uncertain provenance.

HMRC's enquiries into Gateley PLC to identify the source of the money should be an interesting conversation, and that is just from a money laundering angle.

Then there is the question of undeclared income, missing VAT, absence of corporation tax and personal taxes.

Quite a task, and when better to start than right now?

I posed this question a couple of hours ago (different thread)

Since Rathbone's transfer has come about after Bottomley had been ejected from the building, it does little to allay concerns expressed on here before that there's still someone at the club who's not acting in the best interests of their employer

we don't know that he does - it would assume a) he knows what we were paid & b) that he has some knowledge of players' market values. He can claim anything, it means nothing - the fact that he is even responding to the rumours on this forum may say more about his own anxiety that the deal could be collapsing

Value is something that only the buyer and seller can agree on.
Certainly not people like Jarvis and Curran.
Bearing in mind that Humphrys had allegedly downed tools until he got a move away from the club and that Rathbone reportedly went to see the manager after being unsettled by transfer speculation (in much the same way as Jamie Allen) then the club yielded and sold them.
The other thing to bear in mind is that hopefully sell-on clauses were included in the transfers.
And how do you put a price on those?
If Wigan and Rotherham both get promoted for example then hopefully a bit more dosh might come Dale’s way.
The worrying thing to my mind is that Jarvis is either guessing about the transfer fees involved or has been passed the information.
If so, by who?
