You make it sound like last season was a bed of roses. There were plenty of poor performances, but we had James and McBurnie to get us out of trouble (in the second half of the season at least). Peterson plays a shocking ball back towards our CBs that gets intercepted, Grimes lets the ball run over his foot, Celina plays an awful square pass inside from the touchline (and then acts like there was nothing wrong with it) - yup, I blame the players. I don't see how any of those are Cooper's fault - unless he's encouraging them to do those things. It seems like at the moment, every time we give the ball away in our own half, we're getting punished for it.

There's certainly a sepia toned view of last season with many. Agree with you there. We only looked like a fun side once DJ kicked into higher gear towards the second half of the season. Point is we started looking like a fun side. And we were certainly better on the ball than we are now. The players look terrified to take risks, and an ethos like that can only come from management. Paul Clement's team was much the same.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |
