The Official Bristol City vs Swansea City Match Thread on 18:27 - Sep 21 by JackSomething | I'm confused. I heard we had a free kick from Grimes turned round the post by the keeper and the keeper saved from Ayew in a 1-on-1. How does that translate to a few headers off corners and little else? Thanks Monmouth for a report from someone from the game and being someone who seems to know what he's talking about. |
Those two okay chances are the little else. Ayew, vdH and Rodon each had a header off a corner. We had a few attempts in the box where players couldn't get over the ball and looped poor efforts over as well, but one shot on target from a tight angle from open play is nothing remarkable, is it?

This is when you know people are only here to start fights. They start writing both sides of the argument to gloat over. Pathetic.

One shot on target from open play matches their output. The striker should have scored the first half chance, that was probably level with Ayew as the biggest chance of the game. The header that Woodman saved wasn't a great chance, I'd always bet on the keeper in that situation. So it sounds fairly equal in terms of chances created. Which doesn't sound like the picture you painted of Bristol running riot does it? You don't help yourself by constantly seeing things in the most negative light possible.

I'd call it pathetic to claim we created little except for a few headers off corners and then backtrack that a free kick tipped round the post and a save from a 1-on-1 were the 'little' you referred to. Each to their own. We agree on the sending off though, never a red card.

The Official Bristol City vs Swansea City Match Thread on 18:10 - Sep 21 by monmouth | Just back, nice and quick. By far the quietest home fans I’ve ever seen. They were like the Crud fans when we whumped them 3-0 but they were at home. It beggared belief. No way were we lucky in any way. Solid point no real scares other than that ball across goal. For a home side they did next to nothing. We are not creating much though. It was almost Sousaesque today for my money. We have zero pace and next to no penetrative width (Naughts and Biddy are not threatening attacking wingbacks, and neither is Roberts cove to that). Celina is the only one that moves faster than a glacier. I would take that performance and result over there anyday. Cooper has to find some keys to unlock defences now. There’s a lot of teams in this league that will just run and close down and run back into shape all game, so playing at snails pace and taking three touches on the ball every time is going to do us no favours. That’s been a consistent trend for the last three games. Happy tonight though. I’d have taken 4 points, and it’s points that count, from those tough three games one way or another. |
We need a platform to be able to consistently build attacks from. As good as our front players can be, if there's nothing behind them then on occasion we're going to struggle to achieve that. We desperately need a midfield boss. Someone to turn the tide of games our way or at least wrest control from the opposition on occasion. This has to be our #1 priority for January. Get that and there's no telling how far we can go.

Good appraisal monny, thanks for that. My old man after forest game was concerned about lack of pace and creativity and where many others. We are a work in progress and I think we learn game to game under Cooper. A good point away and that is vital.
The Official Bristol City vs Swansea City Match Thread on 19:59 - Sep 21 with 2070 views | magicdaps10 | Not the greatest of games but we were slightly better, being the away team then I am always happy when we come away looking the better team. Point is welcomed but we could and should have deserved a victory today.

Well I don’t think he’s either. I do think he has a spin on things he is trying quite hard to promote though, as does his mate Badlands.

In glimpses, yes. Saw his last game for us in Port Talbot. Played a quality ball early doors and there endeth his career.

There's a certain mystique that hangs over Bodde's performances. Cracking player at the level we had him but as time has gone on he seemed to be a bit of a lower league Shelvey. Full of ability but not the sharpest tool in the box. The assumption that he'd have definitely thrived in the Premier League is a bit misguided IMO.

He smells of E20 and The Res for me. As for Bodde being knocked down on here, I am disgusted. Bodde was an excellent footballer and although we never saw it...... He was most certainly ready to play in the Premier league.
