I've thought about this and my answers are:
1) Amsterdam, and Ajax. Museums, architecture, laid-back people, great football and watching Ajax Academy train. And spliff.
2) Boston, and the Red Sox. Imagine watching all that twisted angst up close. It would be hysterically funny. Plus I love the Sox.

I'd live in the Umbrian hills around my favourite city of Assisi, I'd have to travel some 12 Kms or so to watch the permanently shyte Perugia (Serie B), after spending the first 45 minutes or so moaning I'd leave at half time, go home and smoke a joint and say things like "yea whatever"

It is a beautiful city and well worth a visit.

Seconded on Real Socieded and San Seb. That whole area from Bordeaux down through Biarritz to the Basque country is my favourite and San Sebastien is absolutely gorgeous. Mum had a house there but just sold it and kept the one in Brigg. We are not on speaking terms. |  | | |

I loved San Sebastien. I went for a weekend to Biarritz and found it snobbish. Had a day trip in San Sebastien and loved it a lot cheaper to eat out and bought my alcohol in Lidl to take back to France. I regretted not going to San Sebastien for a longer trip. | | | |

I'd probably end up in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, where my partner comes from. Nice food, hot in summer (40oC+), freezing in winter (-30oC), low level corruption everywhere, not much to do.
FC Dordoi of Bishkek are general winners of League & cup most seasons in an 8 team League.
