Anybody who couldn’t see this sh1tstorm hitting us eventually as soon as the Yanks’ ‘true intentions’ and ZERO investment since 2016 became abundantly clear, coupled with Judas Jenkins remaining in situ on his £600k pa salary PLUS Pearlman on £500k+ was either incredibly naive and taken in by the bullsh1t which was served up by both the Sellouts and the Yanks or who simply ‘chose’ to ignore it.

It was a really, really difficult decision for me, my two sons and my old man in March 2018 for us NOT to renew our Season Tickets for this current season given that me & my old man have been season ticket holders since the late 1970’s and I took both my sons to the Vetch as soon as they could walk !

It now appears to be that the current ‘Regime’ will strip bare all available assets with any sort of intrinsic value and eventually ‘move on’ once every last $$$$ has been screwed out of OUR Club.

Sad times all around, I was there in 1985 with the High Court winding up order etc and again in 2003 with our successful stand against Petty.

Yet this time around I believe we have been screwed over both from the outside (the Yanks) as well as a cute ‘inside job’ on behalf of the (By the Fans for the Fans ) Sellouts who lined their own pockets without a second thought for the consequences for ‘the Club they loved’

Simply repulsive yet they have skins like Rhinos and absolutely ZERO conscience whatsoever ....

You Greedy B@stards Get Out Of OUR Club.

Together Stronger 💪💪💪

Asset stripping? Nah this is a consequence of the wasted money we spent trying to stay in the Prem.

Yes it's radical surgery, but it has to be done

Why does it have to be done!?

Because we are financially in the shit, and these things need to be done, or we'll be another Portsmouth.

Bony, the Ayews, Baston and Mesa all have to be paid for

You give it out, you take it back it`s all part of the game

The club is hemorrhaging money with the big earners that don’t play, that’s why the likes of Dan James have to be sold.

The fans clamour for money to be thrown around in the Premier League - if some people had got their wish we’d be selling more than James right now.....
[Post edited 29 Jan 2019 8:07]

I’m sure that most fans won’t care if the likes of Bony and Narsingh go and probably hope they do.

It’s if and when a good young player like Dan James is sold that a lot of fans won’t find that palatable or acceptable, I for one would be gutted.

Yes it might be a financial necessity if we can’t shift Bony or Narsingh but that would be a huge price to play for the likes of Jenkins’s mistakes, not least giving a player that hasn’t played for two years a £100k a week contract with no relegation clause!

What must that man do to get sacked? If he had any decency he would have walked by now but he clearly hasn’t.

The other consideration is Potter, if James was sold when he was exactly the sort of player that Potter was trying to bring on to try and rebuild the team then no doubt that would leave Potter with even less respect for his employers than he’s already got, and may leave him wondering if he’s wasting his time here.

We obviously need the big earners off our books, I'm not sure if we can't sell anyone now who we'd have left in the summer of the big earners.

Certainly Bony and Fer's contracts will be up, is Narsingh and the Ayew brothers up as well (hope so).

It's been obvious for some time that the 'investors' are not investors as they don't invest, but if we lose James it will be because they can't afford the losses being made on the others.

The proof of the pudding won't be this transfer window, right now I believe we're in survive mode, the proof will be in the summer, once the big earners have gone, do we have anything left to invest?

Hopefully we manage to keep Potter, as his intention is to rebuild with the young players but I can't see us keeping him if we sell the promising youngsters he's hoping to build with.

As a matter of fact, any promising youngsters we have left will want to go as we'd have no future for them.

The Ayews still have a further 1 and 2 years remaining on their contracts. I'm guessing Andre would be the latter

All most fans can see is that Hugh made himself a multi millionaire.
The Yanks only invested to make a quick buck which has backfired.
From a healthy club which we thought Hugh run well, now apparently has not.
It does not matter what ananlysis people come up with on here I think our attendances next season will drop like a stone
I hope that I am wrong

The big earners that don’t play contracts run out in a few months time anyway. Hardly that big a drain on our finances.

Bony - £500k wages
Fer - £200k wages
Narsingh - £350k wages

It’s hardly going to kill the Americans to let them see out their contracts here. Probably less than a million between now and the rest of the season.

And as the Americans said when they took over the club they have the resources to sustain us in the event of relegation from the Premier League - now put your money where your mouth is.

Not sure where you get your numbers from but I thought Bony was on 120k a week, 40k of which is subsidised by Man City. If that is correct then it's going to cost the club well in excess of a million in wages on Bony alone.

Your right, but attendances will depend on what happens this season, playing and transfer wise. ATM I am waiting to see how I go , tettering, but looks like the wrong side

Yup, unfortunately for us Andre's is until 06/21 & Jordan's to 06/20 - suspect they are a significant millstone, only small crumb of comfort is that they & their people are very willing to encourage them to play elsewhere but I imagine we still end up subsidising the wages!

If Bony's on £100k per week, there's nearly £2m there just to the end of June.

But yeah, in the grand scheme of things it's small beer. If the excuse is that we have to sell Dan because Bony won't be off for another 5 months, then that tells us all we need to know about priorities and their claimed ability to manage cash flow.

We'll see. Trouble is we're all second guessing what's going to happen and the state of the finances.

Where did you get those figures?? I am sure its well report bony is on 100k + and narsingh is on 50k +. I dont want the club to sell James, but anything over 6 mil is great play from the club on james. Straight out of the levy play book.

If we can't sell Bony and a couple of others, that will be the excuse for selling DJ.
And sounds about right tbh.
I really don't think they'd sell him otherwise. Unless it was for crazy money

Selling Dan to counteract the money lost on Wilfs expenses does not make sense. Why can't people see this? It will not make a dent.

As Potter said in yesterday's press conference, Bony isn't the only financial issue at the club. It's a group of players, not one individual, even if he's on a shocking figure.

This season we've got Bony, Narsingh, Fer, Olsson and Routledge on too much money for the division. But at least they're gone in the summer.

Next season, when our income drops another big percentage (55% to 40% of last PL TV income), we're still left with Carroll, Naughton, Montero, Dyer, two Ayews and a Baston to accommodate.

We can only go on reports but looking at other teams we don't pay most of our squad big money.
Senior players at Villa are in groups of £20K, £30K and a couple each at £40 & £50 thousand a week.
Stokes' average is around £45,000
Other than Bony.

Fer & Dyer £29,000
Narsingh £25,000
Carroll £22,000
Olsson £22,000
Routeledge £18,000
Naughton £18,000
Van der Hoorn £11,000

Either the 'black hole' is bigger than most thought, or the money is going somewhere else. Of what you posted in January, Bony, Fer, Narsingh, Olsson, & Routledge's wages are gone (Routs got the new contract).

Of course Borja and Ayew's wages will be large, but when factored in that we've lost some big earners, it shouldn't be much different.

Offseason money lost:
'Black hole' to be filled: ~30M
Peterson: 1M max

Offseason money gained:
Potter: 3M
Jordan Ayew: 2.5M
James: 15M
McBurnie: 18M minimum

Net gain of 7.5M.
So where has the money gone?
I'm not sure what Borja and Ayew are on, but lets say they're both on 50k a week. That's a combined 5.2M on their wages, assuming they don't leave in January.
Net gain of 2.3M
If the wages you listed are correct, the players we have left with their wages, comes to 4.2M rounded. And lets say academy costs come to 2M a year (let me know if you have a correct figure).
Net loss of 3.9M
And lets say the other players' wages combine for 4M.
Net loss of 7.9M

Most clubs make a loss every year. Considering we have a 15M parachute payment coming up next season, it would turn our cash deficit into an immediate surplus of 7.1M. Borja, Ayew, and Mike will all be gone, bringing the annual wage bill down by roughly 5.8M. And we'll get a small fee for Ayew.

There should be cash available to spend on players. If the yanks are still here we know there will be no spending, but spending will be possible. If we have any financial issues or a 'black hole' next season, it's all lies.
