Antti, agree with most of that - 10,000 hours of practice and all that but I have to pick you up on your Mozart comment.
When he was travelling Europe as a child prodigy the Pope heard about him and asked him and his father to come to Rome. The Pope got his court composer to write an original piece that had never before been rehearsed. Young Mozart was asked to listen to the very first performance and asked to write it down from memory. He did so, note perfect to everyone’s astonishment.
How could he practice that?

The famous Mozart went to Rome to see the pope, the famous Mozart went to Rome to see the pope, the famous Mozart went to Rome to see the pope, and this is what he said. "Who's that facist one called Wagner.....................'

That's not quite right. http://nowiknow.com/mozart-versus-the-pope/ But of course that can be practised - his life was music. It is incredible, but he couldn't have just done that aged 3, could he? It's astonishing, but great musicians can do stuff like that - pick up and play tunes after hearing them just once.
Bare bones.

Thanks for posting. I've watched a few of these, and no matter what certain posters think, it's not about crying, it's because I want to see someone of that talent making use of it, and he is unbelievable to watch in that kind of mood. He must have laid on 4 or 5 gorgeous chances there, and the goal was sublime. Great finish, but the first touch and then the movement to get it back was absolutely brilliant.
He's been in the wilds for years, but Genoa were saying positive things about him when he came back in the summer, and the manager has rewarded him and he seems to be responding. This isn't isolated this season. Really hope he can keep this up. I don't think he's a bad person and to say he has no application just shows ignorance - no one, whatever people might tell you, is born with that sort of touch. It's worked on and honed. At some point in his life, he worked his ass off practising. If only he had kept that up, he could have been one of the top players in the world. Still time for him to do something special, mind.
Absolutely brilliant player for us, but up to this point, the only thing of note Adel had done this season was get sent off.
Whether you believe he's worked his ass off or not at some point in his life is irrelevant. He'll be remembered by most football fans of pissing a potentially amazing football career up the wall because of his attitude. He should have been playing for the likes of Real Madrid instead of playing for a poor to average team in Serie A or sitting on benches around Europe.
When you look at his ability his honours list should be the envy of most players across Europe. Instead he's going to end up with an EFL Championship medal and a player of the year award for a 2nd tier football league.

I'm not sure. If you need a sufficient combination of physiology, talent and application to make it in competitive sport, the first is predominantly genetic inheritance (e.g. distribution of fast-twitch muscle fibre), the second significantly so (e.g. hand-eye coordination) and the third an unclear mix of nature and nurture.
Application takes different forms, if Gazza hadn't bunked off school every day to play keepy-uppy, would he have become Carlton Palmer?
A magnificent football club, the love of our lives, finding a way to finally have its day in the sun.
Margaret Thatcher spent long hours of her teenage years luring then punching stray kittens in the face. Family outings to Skegness beach involved afternoons of stamping on small children's sandcastles. Term time involved after school visits to Grantham public library ripping the last pages out of books. The woman wasn't born evil it took years of hard work and dedication. I'd love to see Adel back in an Rs shirt. Ledge!

It was always a one-way thing - we loved him, and he loved that but he didn't love us back. Being sent back from Milan and the Champions League to lil'old QPR "destroyed me mentally"...
