What will the result of the GE be on 10:32 - Jun 9 by stevec
If nothing else, he's shown people are sick of being taken for a financial ride.
Think 1BH touched on this a few times, this so called National Debt needs serious analysis, who the fck is this £1.7 trillion owed to and does it need to be paid up? If the Government owes it to itself, it's time it wrote it off.
Is much of the debt investments by the Pension Funds who regard our Government as a safe bet? Not likely to default as we would call in the IMF as happened in 1976. Government could print money, which is what they have been doing since the Financial crisis. Always then a risk with Inflation and Interest rates. It is a very delicate balancing act. As Base rate has now been very low for a number of years I think it would be a big shock to the system for many people if they went higher. I remember when they seemed to rise/fall several times a year.

BBC News in ultra-sycophantic mode about the Queen right now, blathering about how sympathetic she is, whatever that means. No comments about how the future of tens of millions of people are presently in the hands of an unelected aristocrat.

Was it me, or was the BBC coverage last night bad? Like technically bad? Constant sound issues, everyone interrupting and talking over each other. I found myself actually turning on ITV

No, you're dead right. They had huge technical issues, didn't they? People chatting over each other, mics left on too long, results graphics patchy...
I thought Dimbleby would surely blow at some stage but he kept remarkably calm. He's a serious pro, that one.

So we've got the Tory party, itself divided quite badly over Brexit, currently presided over by Hard Brexiteers now propped up by an extreme conservative party who want a soft brexit to appease all the farmers who voted for them.
Can't see any long term issues here

That's certainty, that is.

A lot of pain coming for the Conservative Party. May dead in the water (did I say that before) they will be manoeuvring for a new leader. Let the back stabbing commence.
Strong and stable my arse.
