New kit on 17:21 - May 16 with 3951 views | Boss_Hog | The design will purely be up to the club. Errea are simply suppliers and therefore will only deliver what is ordered. In a previous job I worked very closely with Errea and in terms of design of kits it was simply a blank canvass and they could manufacture any design or colour you wanted. This is evidenced by the bizarre kits they have made for other clubs down the years and I have been to Italy and seen the process in action and even took a fan on one occasion after he won a competition. Bespoke kits is not an option with many suppliers however. Nike, Adidas, Puma add would all be an off the shelf kit used by many other clubs. As with Dale kits, I found sizing an issue with Errea and even put out a warning before every kit launch. We even mate some 7XL shifts to fit some 'larger' fans. My kids have all the kits going back years and annoyingly they all 'pull' if made by Errea. This is a recurring theme sadly. So blame quality on Errea but not design. I will be interested to see which direction the club goes with this as negotiations should already have started if they are out of contract at the end of 17/18.

Given the relatively long standing agreement that Hartlepool had with Nike, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see their return in time for 2018-19

New kit on 19:03 - May 15 by 442Dale | "anticipating it being black"? Surely the kit's design was either one thing or the other. If it was chosen because of a plain black panel (lesser of two evils) then that's what it should be. With a white panel it'll still look better with blue numbers too. What is disappointing about this thread is that with a few simple tweaks and some informed input, they'd have sold a lot more shirts. But we've said that before. |

As has been said, it's a perfectly decent football shirt and looks good. On the back of a really effective bespoke shirt which was predominantly plain with the black & white stripe, the opportunity was there to maximise the blank canvas Errea often provide to come up with something a bit different to capture attention and increase sales. Instead the template where those stripes are now at the sides was chosen. It's no great declaration to say that if supporter input was utilised, even on a 'quick meeting, have a look at these designs' level, the sales numbers would probably be much higher than what will result from this choice.

New kit on 09:38 - Jun 21 with 2925 views | mingthemerciless | TK Maxx is a good place for odd replica shirts. I decided to go running again recently so I needed a shirt. I got an adidas " Rosenborg 1917 " home shirt for £8. A year or two back I got two " New York Cosmos" shirts from the " Pele " era at TK's. The home white shirt and the green away shirt with the " Pele " and the number ten sewn on. Both really top quality by " Umbro " . I wear them on holiday out in Spain. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Interesting idea does it generate more money? And can you choose which one you want from the club shop on replica shirts? [Post edited 21 Jun 2017 13:16]

Can someone with better eyes than my confirm if those socks have two black hoops on the turnover or are they blue? I'll be rather irritated if it's the latter. To follow the theme of the entire strip we'd have been better served with a turnover similar to those on the red kit, half black and half white - this would have matched the width of the trim on the shirt and shorts. Even black turnovers with white hoops would have been better actually.

Having blown up the pictures I am fairly confident that they are thin black hoops. If they do turn out to be blue then they are a different shade of blue to the rest of the kit. Have to say having seen these pictures the socks just like the rest of the home kit are completely uninspiring. Probably going to buy the away kit instead this season.

New kit on 17:56 - Jul 8 with 2225 views | 442Dale | This post was prompted by a conversation around what we might wear early on in the season should we be away at Blackburn or Bury in the Checkatrade. The following is a full list of away games with preferred kits. Notes: 'Home' refers to blue shirts, white shorts and blue socks. 'Away' is black & white striped shirts, black shorts and black socks. Portsmouth: Away kit. Shrewsbury: Away kit. Southend: interesting one. If they have navy shorts as normal, we will be required to use the white home shorts with the away shirt. If they decide to have navy socks too then an alternative white pair will be have to be sourced from Errea as wearing black or blue against navy is not acceptable. MK Dons: Home shirt, away black shorts, home socks. Blackpool: Home shirt, away black shorts, home socks. AFC Wimbledon: Away kit. Fleetwood: Home shirt, away black shorts, home socks. Plymouth: Home shirt, away black shorts, home socks. Oldham: Away kit. Charlton: Home shirt, away black shorts, home socks. Bradford: Home kit. Blackburn: Third kit required. Preferably the red one from last season. As a good percentage of shorts from this would have been sold in the kit sale, the shirts alone could be sourced from Errea and combined with black shorts and socks. Doncaster: Home shirt, away black shorts, home socks. Gillingham: Away kit. Walsall: Home kit. Northampton: Home shirt, away black shorts, home socks. Bristol Rovers: Third kit required. See Blackburn. Wigan: Third kit required. See Blackburn. Rotherham: Home shirt, away black shorts, home socks. Scunthorpe: Away kit due to the use of blue within the entirety of the Iron's strip. Bury: We would have to change our socks, and I hate blue shirts/white shorts v white shirts/blue shorts, so we may as well wear our away shorts too. Blue shirts/black shorts/black socks. Peterborough: Away kit. Oxford: Home kit but alternative white socks required. See Southend. It's clear that a blue shirts/black shorts/blue socks combo will be seen a lot next season IF we stick to the preferred route of maintaining the integrity of the club's traditional home colours as much as possible. That said, as we've seen plenty of times in the past (07/08 and 09/10 come to mind straight away), it's likely the away kit will appear for no reason on a few occasions too.

New kit on 09:58 - Jul 16 with 2064 views | 442Dale | And so it begins. The black away shorts were used with the home shirt yesterday to avoid a SHORTS CLASH. Super attention to detail for a friendly (Chesterfield played Middlesbrough and both teams were in white socks. Disgusted doesn't cover it.) However, the away shorts contain no blue trim and I look back fondly to last season's alternative black shorts which had that all important blue stripe which ensured the kit flowed quite beautifully.

New kit on 14:27 - Jul 16 by Brierls | I'm not sure that would have worked against a team in all white. It wouldn't have been right. Then again, when have this generation of Notts County fans cared about what is right, it's all about the ££££. I'm a big fan of black & white striped kits (your shower apart) but I'm unsure on our away kit. Errea have somehow managed to balls it up, and I can't quite put my finger on how they've managed it. It's not just the collar. [Post edited 16 Jul 2017 14:30]

Its because your shirt is just a copy of the Notts shirt and everybody knows that copy's aren't as good as the orginal

Having seen it being worn now, I know exactly what it is and it's the same issues as the home shirt: not enough attention to detail. A subtle bit of blue trim, maybe a line in the collar on on the sleeves, just something to set it apart. Strangely this is something Errea are usually very good at. Note: saw two (2) new home shirts being worn yesterday. There were more of last season's being worn. Proof indeed that choosing a shirt which saw the black/white stripe move in position was not significant enough to make supporters think "I must get that shirt". The last time such a poor shirt turnout was seen in pre-season was the thin blue & black stripes of the promotion season which was immediately acknowledged as a rubbish design. This one isn't rubbish, it's just not clever enough.
