Positives in being relegated on 11:45 - Apr 4 with 1087 views | perchrockjack | You have no idea where I am right now Roger. Frankly, as we re in advice offering mode, stay clear of DARRAN and remember ,as others have pointed out , everything that comes out of his mouth is questionable. Any poster who makes allegations of a criminal matter on here needs to be watched carefully. A dangerous man who is allowed to get away with all this and cause bitterness where it shouldn't exist. Enjoy your day

Positives in being relegated on 08:18 - Apr 4 by monmouth | Any vestige of what made us different has long since gone, no been wilfully cast away, by greed and incompetence. We are already a dead ball team. If we go down that will continue with worse players in the roles of Sigurdsson and Llorente. The likes of Gestede and Whittingham could be our future. All in all it's not a prospect I would welcome. Even if we stay up, we are probably in for a relegation scrap every year now. We are just a run of the mill dog team like Hull, Burnley, Sunderland and the rest with no discernible separate identity owned by clueless foreign money men. It makes me sick thinking of what we have thrown away, it really does. |
I dunno, at least from a footballing perspective. Frankly I think the whole squad needs a total revamp. Probably easier to do that from a position of being in the Premier league than not ... the money is always going to enable more things. If we aren't bolder on that front, you're absolutely right ... we'll continue to be what we are, pottering around the bottom 8 hoping to survive. There's no point to that. We need to aspire to where we were in 2013.

TBH if we stay up, we will never be one of the top Clubs, events like Leicesters last year are once in a lifetime events, eg Ipswich in the 60s. Realistically a mid table team, playing good football and probably a Cup run is the best we could hope for. Bet theres not many of our fans have experienced relegation, and if we go down, getting back up could take years, 30 odd the last time, so its probably the last time for me to see them in the top flight, and I dont want it to end. despite its failiures........................its the place to be.
Positives in being relegated on 12:48 - Apr 4 with 994 views | perchrockjack | Whatever happens ,we need a massive clear out. IF WE STAY UP , we should take advantage and really change matters. Ideally, Jenkins should go gracefully and be replaced with someone who will either source quality players we can use or simply allow manager to bring in better quality. Mawson has been a good investment however and possibly Olsson . BASTON,for me, is what defines our situation .Truly incredulous to behold

I agree that realistically that's what we can hope to achieve. However, I don't think being in the PL is the be all and end all. I'd much rather us playing good football in the championship than murderball in the PL for example (not that I think that's what happening now).

Positives in being relegated on 13:07 - Apr 4 with 960 views | perchrockjack | Issue is Ux that we really don't NEED to be in Championship We ve gone through the tough early PL years and were in a position to move on. This meant selling players at profit but being canny as to whom we brought in to replace. We ve also given ludicrous long term contracts to players who should have been well gone out of our club by now. Taylor, a classic example of one who outstayed his welcome

I agree. I will watch (again) Swansea whatever league they are in ....I enjoy / get p issed of if we beat/lose to Man Utd or Hartlepool For the club / city of Swansea relegation will be a disaster for me Saturday afternoons will mean meeting up with my mates. few beers, football whatever league we are in. Personally the biggest lose to me will not be able to watch away 3 o clocks for games I can't get to on a stream

Ask the fans of Newport, Yeovil, Leyton Orient , where they would rather be. Playing good football in the Championship or whatever wouldnt be the answer, youd be frustrated we werent challenging/getting promoted. Been there done that and for me the Prem, even struggling is the place to be. Its Football..........as Shanks said................."Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that. If you are first you are first. If you are second you are nothing."

Agreed. I've just read someone say 'it's not the be all and end all'. Well it is. It's the place to be. It's what clubs strive to achieve. It's one of the very best football leagues in the world. Anything else is for losers. It's not a good mentality to start looking for the positives about being relegated to what is a far inferior league. It's what our Club want and need. We are a potential Portsmouth waiting to happen. If we go down this year it could well see the Club spiral downwards. It's on a knife edge. Enjoy the Premier League while we can. It may never happen again but to casually talk of being demoted as if we can flick a switch and get it back some other time? Do me a favour. Anything else after this will be dogshyte. Do you really think that playing Burton Albion on a January Tuesday night or anytime of the bleeding year for that matter after all we've gone through is going to interest people? It won't and expect around 10000 there at most it happens especially after the Club sale and the devious methods of the twunts involved.
