Barrow ticket(s) needed 15:58 - Dec 20 with 5607 viewsAjsfc

Thought I would stick on a new thread as I am sure few people are in the same boat.

If you aren't planning on heading to the Barrow game and have a spare ST voucher please could you drop me a PM. After two vouchers/tickets. Happy to pay extra

At the top of my head, there's not been many dull games against Shrewsbury at home in recent years. Always seems to carry a story, and I prefer them as opponents to over half the teams in our division. It's just a proper Rochdale fixture, and they're always a good measure to compare ourselves with.

I'd add Chesterfield to that too.

There have been some really good games against them at home down the years.

Even 'The slump starts here' game was a cracker.

Rather Chesterfield and Shrewsbury than Barnet and Morecambe, tbh.

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

Yeah, we had a decent rivalry with Chesterfield contesting the League2 title with them in the 13/14 season, that season's fixture at Spotland was a superb game of football.

Bet they do.
Are all these people the same ones who wouldn't buy a season ticket as a protest at the start of the season?

If by "all these people" you are referring to those asking for help to get a ticket, I can only speak on behalf of myself and say no. I get to as many games as I can (only 4 so far this year) and if that makes me a bad fan in your eyes, I can assure you I will not lose a moments sleep over that. I have never had a season ticket, personal circs do not allow it. One contributing factor is elderly parents with health problems. I'll be visiting them on the Friday before the game to take mum to hospital and staying over. As I'll already be at J34 of the M6, it's an open net for me. I just need an assist.

While appreciating anyone's circumstances, it's not right if a season ticket holder misses out. They deserve to get priority as it's one of the things they paid for last summer. If a ST holder can't get to the ground this week due to work/living away or other circumstances* and intend to get one when next able to get to the ground, they may find there are no tickets left. If that's the case, it shouldn't be because non-ST holders have been able to get hold of a voucher.

* can people get them over the phone? Confirm their details etc?

I fully understand why some may not agree with the above, but that's up to individuals. Each to their own etc etc.

I fully agree and would not want to "jump the queue". If anyone shells out for a ST and getting a ticket is a perk of doing so, fair play to the ST holders. They deserve first dibs.
Speaking personally, again, I was imagining that the number of tickets would exceed the number of ST holders wanting to go and as I can't get to the ground anytime soon, was hoping someone would do me a favour as a kind chap on here did for me for the Stoke game. If I don't go it's not the end of the world.

Forgot to add to my last post - was out with an Imps fan on Monday. He's a ST holder and he said Barrow are by far the toughest side they've faced this year and beat the Imps at Sincil Bank. Big, organised and threatening. Imps go up there later in the month and he expects Barrow to sweep them. As others have said, we overlook them at our peril.

You may well be right. There's about 275 left right now, but I'd imagine most ST holders who want to go will have purchased by now.

Sounds like this could be the first Dale game involving Barrow that's going to be a sell-out...

Got mine this morning - about 220 left.

Suspect they will sell out on boxing day. Can't see any being left to go on open sale on Tuesday - and if you can't get down today / tomorrow get there very early on Boxing day to make sure

Not suprised there has been lots of dummy spat outs due to the Barrow allocation on the various threads....

Think about this.....

I am aware of around 12 people who booked the train to Barrow as soon as the draw was made. Fairly sure 3 of these fans do not have tickets. And as they are not ST Holders, will not get one. Pretty sure the 3 will still travel up there on the off chance tickets will be available for what ever source.

Between now and then, lots of things can happen.

1. We may struggle to sell the 225 or so that are left
2. Barrow MAY give us more tickets depending on how many they sell
3. People who have purchased tickets might not go....ie Work, Family Stuff, money , the list is endless.

It does happen. Lots of tickets available for the Rushden/Diamonds Play-off away tie,

Can only speak personally, but if I cant find another ticket by about 2.30. Mine will be for sale. (face value) and i wont ask for the £11 train fare it cost me yesterday.

And before the do gooders start. its only illegal to sell it for £14.01+

I "m sure i am not the only one in the same boat.

Also if there are 100 or so near the ground, without tickets Cumbria police may prefer people to be in the ground rather than in the town centre pubs .....thats obviously if there is space available.

All this is hypothetical, and depends on how desperate you want to watch the game. Easy to be a keyboard warrior and moan moan moan.

Then again, i hear one of the irish sports channels are showing the game...So you could have pre match bevvy in Barrow. Watch the Game, and sneak off early if we are getting hammered, or celebrate into the night in Barrow if we win.
