The Euro 16 Semi-Final Wales Versus Portugal MatchNight Thread on 19:05 - Jul 7 with 1827 views | ImAlrightJack | Ronaldo, an overrated pr*ck who's from a backward country and just spent his time in the Portuguese slums playing football. Dumb lot didn't even know what charcoal was and we spent 30 mins of our life we'll never get back, pointing at an illustration of a barbecue explaining if what we were about to buy, is what we needed. All this only ended after tons of "Eh?" and "Si?" replies, when the person behind the till opened the drawer and pulled out a piece of paper with "Charcoal" written on it from an ex-pat who previously visited. Shame their football team are not as awful last night, like the residents of Loúle are at speaking the international lingo. Really winds me up it had to be Ronaldo who knocked us out. Come on Germany tonight, only team left who can actually beat them. Anti football cannot win, those two goals came from nothing and they played awful. The ITV commentator saying Ronaldo won the battle of the Real teammates really made me want to throw something at the TV. ITV's love in of the little turd with tread marks in his hair makes me also angry. Esuebio's still spinning in his grave.

You're in a foreign country and the locals are thick because they can't understand you? I bet the residents of Loúle were devastated to see you leave?

The Euro 16 Semi-Final Wales Versus Portugal MatchNight Thread on 09:15 - Jul 7 by somersetsimon | The squad we have will get better with more experience, but we could do with some more forwards and creative players coming through. Are there any youngsters we need to look out for? |
Tyler Robert , 17 year old centre forward at West Brom. Made his Prem league debut last season. Very highly rated. Harry Wilson, 19 year old winger at Liverpool though had a poor loan time at Crewe. Ben Woodburn, 17 year old midfielder at Liverpool. Rated a huge talent in their Academy, compared to Ramsey. Ethan Ampadu 17 year old midfielder at Exeter City Cole DaSilva 17 year old defender for Chelsea. We could do with his twin brother as well who has played for England U18. Gethin Jones 20 year old midfielder at Everton, on loan at Plymouth Argyle. Ryan Harrington 18 year old left back defender at Everton Regan Poole 18 year old centre back for Manchester Utd. Woodburn and Roberts are the ones on top of my list to make it.
The Euro 16 Semi-Final Wales Versus Portugal MatchNight Thread on 20:57 - Jul 7 with 1725 views | builthjack | Just got to Reading services on our journey back. Another great trip, shame about the performance. We missed Ramsey and Davies so much. That was the difference. Still, what an experience. I thought I would see Wales play 3, possibly 4 games at the Euros. Ended up seeing all 6. Great night last night, another set of fans who were there to enjoy it. Between what Wales have done now, and what Swansea have done, I will die a happy man, though I have no intention of going anywhere for many a year. Now to start planning some away trips with the Jackarmy.

The Euro 16 Semi-Final Wales Versus Portugal MatchNight Thread on 12:49 - Jul 7 by somersetsimon | When we have our best 11 on the pitch (including Ramsey and Davies) and most of the of the team play well, then we'll give anyone a game, even without a genuine international standard striker. If we lose a couple of players, or the level drops 10%, then we just don't have the quality in reserve to do anything about it. |
Were you standing behind me in Lyon last night Simon? That's almost word for word what I said the to the QPR fan I was sitting next to although I said 5% not 10%.

There were so many fantastic moments, a truly wonderful journey. The singing, the togetherness, other countries fans mixing with us etc. Thousands of Belgium fans clapping us as we came out of the stadium in Lille was an unforgettable show of sportsmanship.my body clock has gone crazy, I have driven through the night 3 times in the last fortnight with no sleep. It was like Valencia, but 6 times as many games.still buzzing. If we can sing as well at the Liberty as the Welsh fans sang in France, it will be worth a goal start to us.

I suppose if someone wanted to sum up the task for Wales in the semi final it would be to look to the subs bench - Quaresma vs Simon Church. It shows how unbelievaby well we did to get that far.

Would agree with all of that. Every game was momentous for one reason or another as we went into uncharted territory but it was the togetherness and the friendly interaction with opposing fans that really stood out for me and yes, the Belgians' graciousness in defeat was unforgettable. Countless thousands of Welsh fans mingling and no hint of club rivalry. I spent my first afternoon in Bordeaux outside a bar drinking with half a dozen lads from Cardiff and they never once mentioned Cardiff and never asked who I supported, just grown ups behaving like grown ups and all there for a common cause, the way it should be. For me, it all started in the Bordeaux fan zone, then that mental journey to the stadium on the metro and singing the national anthem with tears in my eyes, all part of a fantastic atmosphere and experience and it just continued from there for every game. I feel extremely fortunate to still feel young enough to be able to handle it and also to be able to afford to do it. Never to be forgotten and in all probability for me, unlikely ever to be repeated.
