Very proud to be voted Planet Swans Poster of the Year 2017 by my fellow posters. Especially on a site that nearly had 20 million impressions last year.

Are the players 'programmed' to do this in training?
Are they allowed to take responsibility for their own actions and do the 'right thing' when it is so obvious to everyone else in the stadium,or is it contrary to the 'Swansea way' to play everything out from the back?
When we're pressed high, we just don't seem to have an 'out'ball from the back like we used to or a Plan B to be more direct.
I fear our current style of football might just not be suited for this relegation scrap
The problem with the out ball is that our defenders are less comfortable on the ball as in previous years.
At the height of our counterattacking glory under Laudrup a lot of our best moves started with Flores carrying the ball almost into midfield, relying on runners ahead of him using available space. Regardless of his other faults (which are mostly exaggerated) , he was extremely good on the ball. Ash too improved massively over this period. We'd transition from defence to attack in seconds.
We just don't use or don't have that capability any more. By the time we do get the ball past the halfway line opposing teams have had plenty of time to reorganise themselves.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Just watched MOTD and using their technology to get a better look at the offside calls only the first goal was iffy, the penalty was clearly not a pen and the sending off clearly a yellow at worst. Defoe's second and third looking at them were almost perfectly timed and even in slow motion are probably just on or in line, in real time very hard for linesman to call so it looks like he gave the striker the benefit, you have to play the whistle. It was the red card that changed the game as the pen and Sunderland first goal kind of ruled each other out.
You obviously listened to that idiot on MOTD who said it wasn't a Penalty because there "was no contact". Which was patently wrong, ok there was no trip up or foot or leg contact, but Wes Brown hit Ayew in the back with his chest while he was off balance and Ayew made the most of it. But to say there was "no contact" was cr@p.
I also still haven't got the off side rule clear in my head, when Rangel was offside the ball came off the defender blocking the shot and looped back to the goal keeper, I thought if a defender had touched the ball before the goal keeper it wasn't offside.

A deflection by a defender doesn't play an attacker onside. It has to be a deliberate action by the defender. So Rangel was correctly offside.
26.36 and 26.58 mins are the big calls for the offside being discussed with shearer using the slow motion and camera technology, it is very close but marginally onside.

The law is much simpler than people think. Any touch by the opposition makes no difference at all, whether intentional or otherwise. All that matters is where a player is standing when his own teammates touch the ball.
This is what it says on the FIFA website:
A player in an offside position is only penalised if, at the moment the ball touches or is played by one of his team, he is, in the opinion of the referee, involved in active play by: - interfering with play or - interfering with an opponent or - gaining an advantage by being in that position
