Never underestimate the leaders of any terrorist organization. These are very clever individuals as anyone who can succeed in major terrorist action like 9/11. 7/7 Paris and others are not stupid people. as for the passport then it could have been meant to be found for what we know or it could be an oversight by the bomber, either way it adds to the confusion. There is one certainty that unlike our own government the French will not do what we always do and try to enter into dialogue as they know you cannot reason with these and they will retaliate with major force and like the french say " This is a declaration of war" and we all know the French wont give up until they wipe out icis to the very last man........Good luck with that as it will be one hard task and instead of Brussels with the rest of the European leaders talking about it they should join France in declaring war and Help the French to wipe these arsholes of the face of the earth.... |  | | |

I don't think any of us are unaware of Islamic State's brutal application of Sharia Law in the areas it controls - and how it seemingly revels in the opportunity to crush women in the most heartless ways. A video showing a woman being murdered on the street after some self-proclaimed moral god gave the order isn't adding anything to what we know. | |

We all know what happens in these Islamic countries as it has been going on for centuries but until the oil issue came up nobody gave a toss and said it was their way of life. What we object to now is that it don't happen in Europe and all because of oil we have been interfering in the Islamic way of life that has slowly but surely hit back in the only way they know how so Europe and America don't exactly have clean hands. Far too simplistic a view that doesn't take into account the historical relationship between Wahabbism and all other forms of Islam. It isn't Islam fighting the west; it's Wahabbism fighting everyone else and especially the Shiites. Our best hope maybe that IS is fighting on so many fronts. If they lose Saudi support (and there is a growing unease in Saudi Arabia about open support for this extreme form of Islam apparently) that will be key. |  | | |

It seems that they have matched the fingerprints on the bomber to the Greek authority's records (per the BBC) so he did indeed enter Europe with refugees.
As I said earlier, this would appear to be spectacularly stupid if they are planning to come in en masse with refugees, although I read an interesting perspective on this which said that IS want the refugee intake to stop, as it hinders their objective of creating an all out West vs Moslem war. They seem to think that the opinion of Moslems towards the West is so improved by the refugees being allowed in, it harms IS.
However, as you say, it may well just be that they are lunatics and have no real rationale. |
