Ramsey sacked on 13:48 - Nov 5 with 2504 views | FloridaR | Ramsey was a disastrous appointment by the club, no experience and his appointment build on playing a new style of attacking football and younger players building the future of the club...etc In reality the task at QPR was too big for him and he proved he did not know what he was doing.

Ramsey sacked on 13:39 - Nov 5 by Jigsore | he's probably quite relieved he doesn't have to spend his saturdays being abused by his own supporters. Lots of talk about that 'bald c*nt' at Brentford who was giving it the big un to Clint Hill but I suspect other clubs view the fans who were asking for Karl Henry to get sent off in an even worse light. feeling quite jaded with football this morning to be honest. I have so little faith in the board to choose the right manager i'm not sure whats the point |
I'm finding it more and more difficult to give a fk. Will I be in my seat on Saturday ? Don't care. [Post edited 5 Nov 2015 13:56]

Jaded is a good word for it. There's been loads of talk on LFW over the past few seasons about a feeling of disconnect from the club. It's like being married to a horribly disfunctional head case, who last night came in and took a shit on the floor again. Being married to a football club is horrendous. Im not even sure what im supposed to be supporting anymore tbh. The destructive imperative of capital in a working class sport whereby keeping your best players in the transfer window necessitates making a foolhardy push for promotion from an impossible position and foreclosing the potential for a sustainable future of the club. Wicked. I'd have got a divorce from QPR years ago if it were possible, probably during the Briatore era, or around the time Warnock got sacked. But I can't. Is there not some sort of Sunshine of the Spotless Mind programme where I can wake up supporting a different team?

At least the original hotel had better weather. I just can't get my head past the idea of what would happen if we got promoted - can't see any of it being good.

Ramsey sacked on 13:26 - Nov 5 by TacticalR | @Juzzie 'The thing is, the third possibility is highly unlikely because the club is so badly set up. We cast envious eyes towards Swansea and Southampton but they are where they are because they got the clubs running properly. Until we do that we're going to lurch from one disaster to another.' Yes, it seems 'long termism' is just another short term Fernandes fad. |
We could easily be as well setup and run as Swansea & Southampton. The problem is that it took them both hitting rock bottom, spending a decade out of the spotlight rebuilding to come back stronger. The QPR fanbase is matched in short termism only by the ownership. Before Warnock got us promoted, the overwhelming feeling on the board was that we should come up, take the money, consolidate, come down if necessary but much stronger to come up again and stay up. As it was, within 2 months with us where we should be, around the relegation zone, the fans hounded out the best manager we've had in a long time, imploring the owners to spend, spend, spend and stay up. Ever since we did spend, spend, spend, fans have been calling for the club to employ a long term strategy, take some short term pain for long term gain but build something tangible behind the scenes. Finally this summer, the club listened and implemented that strategy. Within 3 months, the manager has been hounded out and fans are demanding nothing less than another promotion that we are nowhere near ready for: Southampton dropped down to the bottom of L1 before they started their comeback. They threw kids in at the deep end. Many sunk down the leagues without a trace, but a few have turned out to be gems. Swansea fell out of the leagues altogether before they started their comeback through kids, journeymen and clever scouting. At QPR, 13th in the Champinship and two 1-0 defeats that we easily could have gotten results from are cause for Armageddon and chasing a manager well respected within the game for the very difficult task at hand out of town. It's all well and good fans constantly pointing to Southampton & Swansea and saying that's what they want, but the reality is that the QPR fanbase has no intention of taking even 12 months of 'pain' in the form of mid table Championship mediocrity, let alone the thick end of a decade it took Southampton to rebuild their club. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Ramsey sacked on 17:18 - Nov 5 with 2248 views | Juzzie | I pointed at Southampton & Swansea because I am happy to take the time to emulate that. I'm not desperate for a quick return to the PL. Sure, I don't want us to get relegated to L1 but happy to consolidate in the Championship if possible until the club is set up to have a stab at returning to the PL and try and actually make a proper fist of staying there. edit: we did hit rock bottom 15 years ago, there's been plenty of time to rebuild and it just hasn't happend. Ramsey sacked on 17:21 - Nov 5 with 2230 views | Dando | If Ramsey corrected simple errors like continuously playing Konch over Yun, and playing Henry every week, or in attacking roles - maybe he would have got better results, more support and still be here now. These kind of mistakes/decisions could have been avoided. Its not all down to those examples, but they do not help the team get results

Stability is most important when establishing the culture of the club and laying the groundwork. Southampton and Swansea already had that established when they were promoted and having that culture in place meant sacking the managers had less of a negative effect. It's not the same as our position at all.

Ramsey sacked on 11:58 - Nov 5 by A40Bosh | Still amazed he and LF were appointed into positions they had never held before. At some point a Deputy Head has to be appointed as a Head Teacher without having done the job before. If the school is in financial dire straits the board of governors are probably going to accept that the guy/girl may lack the experience but that is reflected in the salary they will be on and there are other good senior staff around them. Otherwise no one gets a promotion in life if you have to have done the job before. I can't see an argument that says that QPR is so individual or special that we are exempt from having to financial based decisions and promote in house - ok, it has backfired but that is because TF or the board has changed the landscape and demanded promotion. |
'At some point a Deputy Head has to be appointed as a Head Teacher without having done the job before.' That's just it. We had a two teachers at primary school take on the Head and Deputy Head at a high school. Or some more accurate nuanced metaphor. You get the point. 'and there are other good senior staff around them. ' Bingo.

The problem is we're too far gone now. We are constantly told not to worry as the debt is 'internal' and that's fine as long as a. the owners can afford to be without the money and b. they don't want to sell up. Now that it looks like Air Asia at least may need the money, a. may well be falling apart and b. can't be too far away. For all the talk on here about 'sacking Fernandes', we can't do that; we are well and truly stuck with them. Our only hope is that they turn this around, otherwise its Administration, then Liquidation, then AFC QPR unless the Mittals want to bail Uncle Tone out, or we find some other mug to take us on. The storm, that's been brewing for around 7 years, is starting to build...
