Thought I'd get a theme going, good tunes you remember fondly from the 90s.

'I'm a fountain of blood
In the shape of a girl
You're the bird on the brim
Hypnotised by the Whirl

Drink me, make me feel real
Wet your beak in the stream'

Wet your beak in the stream? What's that all about then? Them Icelandics.

Blimey some of you've had a big weekender, last thing i remember someone put Fluffy Clouds on and then there was something with fractals that went on and on but I was in too much of a state to move and then I slept all through Saturday and missed Bradley Allen's hat trick.

A magnificent football club, the love of our lives, finding a way to finally have its day in the sun.

Few of my faves from the very blurry 90s

Great theme but how do you choose just a few tracks from what was a great decade of music.

Here's my three that sprung to mind before any others and they're all actually from the early 90's when I was young free and single living in Brighton;

Most memorable track;

Most favourite track;

Most memorable/favourite track;

Well the 90's was a decade of clubbing for me but I've been trying really hard to think non-club tunes, Which is really hard as they dry up for me in about 1991.

Here's one when I was on the cusp - going to the Academy in 90/91 for those early all all nighters. Still gigging but to this sort of thing rather than Nirvana and the Pixies.

Summer 1992. This was echoing around the Grove and Brixton.

I like a bit of melodic, catchy guitar music, Met. Will check those bands out.

They make me think of these. I know the first one was 1987 but I was still listening to it in 1990.

I see what you mean about the top one. I'm sure I've seen them before.

Almost prophetic

The Godfathers were/are a W London band who very nearly made it in the early 90's.

That Wildhearts song reminds me of Husker Du. But I can't post any of that here as their last album was 99-ish

You can only have admiration for a man who can get the word 'interventionist' into a pop song

This thread is an education. Don't think I'd ever even heard of The Eels.

Used to listen a lot of Cheryl Crow as, to me, she was the Rickie Lee Jones of the 90's

Also used to love this - not least because it used to really p*ss of people not into dance music.

The Eels were pretty good. I saw them in the 90s at the Astoria (which has since been demolished for the Crossrail station at Tottenham Court Road).

Novocain for the soul is an awesome track I always forget exists until somebody reminds me.

Seeing as it ain't Friday I don't feel beholden by the OP wpg's 90's rule.

Here's a crucial jolly up-tempo number from 1976 with a young multi-talented
Coach Rameses the Magnificent on the joanna:

'I'm 18 with a bullet.Got my finger on the trigger,I'm gonna pull it.." Love,Peace and Fook Chelski! More like 20StoneOfHoop now. Let's face it I'm not getting any thinner. Pass the cake and pies please.

I like this from the 90s although I can't claim it as a fond memory as I've only recently found it and my love of dance/trance didn't start till about 2000

it is hypnotic - I thought my eyes had gone funny the first time I watched it when the dashboard started moving to the beat towards the end but then decided it must be the heat generating from the bike causing that effect
