Supposedly like floating on air. Except the suspension didn't work. Felt every single lump/bump in the road. Awful.

Same colour bought for £15-10.0d windscreen wipers worked off exhaust so if you accelerated the wipers stopped. 3 speed box no synchro, or heater, but a starting handle. Had it for 2 years p/xed it for a series 3 Minx green and cream, because I wanted a car with bench front seat, for some reason I can't remember now!

UWN 454H brakes squealed like hell - but passed my test in it.

2 weeks later a neighbour asked if it was my triumph that had just run down the hill and demolished his garden wall - I've had a thing about handbrakes ever since

hang on a minute... I bought a hand painted blue '1600e' back in 1984 - had £500 burning a hole in my innocent pocket - turned out to be a right shed - door trims flew off when I drove it home - pool of water underneath rad next morning, dodgy badges, wrong interior - managed to palm it off in PX on a Austin Maxi a week later... can I get a refund please?

This, but B695 MPA

I had one of those too. D reg in antelope beige (yep...beige). Lovely car.

Then spent every penny I had and some upgrading it to a white GTi version which my girlfriend hated and called the washer on wheels. Another great car though....until I misjudged a bend in poxy Yorkshire.

Current wifey also had a 205, so very fond memories of those.

First car though was an Austin Allaggro 1750HL twin carb vinyl roofed job. What a heap of absolute shit that was.

RKG 604Y

I had one like this in red.

It used to jump out of first gear so had to be quick changing up. As a 18 year old couldn't afford to put more than a gallon or so at a time.

Found out the petrol tank had a leak on the seam after I put more petrol in than usual and parked it on a hill came back to the car and saw petrol dripping out.

Had problem getting the oil filter off so ended sawing two of the grill bars out the front so i could get my hand directly onto the filter to take it off.

Lost my virginity in the back of it 😜
