Well on that score, the old Indian fella I was talking to today whilst at work must be after a free flight back to India, as he is voting ukip

That's up to him who he votes for and I very much doubt he'll be thrown out of the country if he already lives and works here, if that were the case they'd stand no chance of getting any votes. I just don't think UKIP have much about them other than the blame the immigrants line, I think it's incredible we've got to a stage where they are taken seriously and people are actually voting for them. Goes to show how piss poor the others are I suppose.

Your last sentence pretty much sums up the whole sorry system.

People, left, right, or centre have just had enough

The thing about UKIP in this campaign is they actually had a lot of momentum a month or two back after the defections and by-election results and they seem to have lost a lot of that for me. I might be wrong, but I think they've missed a trick, and potentially a game-changing opportunity.
We know what they stand for on immigration and the EU, that's their big selling point and their MO basically, that's what got them where they've got to. But essentially they've already accrued all the support they're going to for those policies. If you're going to vote for UKIp because of their immigration and EU policy I suspect you've known that for several months or years now.
What they haven't done is really stood for anything else. Where are they on education? Welfare? Health? Their policies on the other stuff just haven't cut through, and because even they themselves admit their manifesto last time was a work of complete nonsense, it breeds the suspicion that they don't really know which in turn makes them a good vote in a by election or an EU election which are notorious as opportunities to give the party in power a kicking, but doesn't cut through in a general election. Have you ever heard anybody say "I'm voting for UKIP because of their policy on the NHS?" for example?

Like I say, just looks like a big opportunity missed potentially.

I won't vote Labour any time soon. Always used to but they let our nation down during their last innings crashing the economy, ripping off our pensioners with terrible advice and pushing the housing market up so that the standard person living in Greater London can no longer afford to live in the area they grew up in. Not to mention the influx if immigrants they let in to boost their own votes. As an unknown Derby fans once lipped...F*cking W@nkers.

Can't stand the Tories, a self serving old school tie brigade who have no idea how the majority of their countrymen feel. The sell off everything and make it far worse. Horrible c*nts.

Lib Dems, dead, sold their souls for an ounce of power.

So UKIP get my vote, the others have proved incompetent time and time again. It might be a disaster but some one else needs to have a go at some point. Going with the same old two failures is utter madness.

But that would imply anybody is voting UKIP for a reason other than 'grrr Labour', 'grrr Tories', 'grrr immurgrunts'....

I have no wish to state who I will be voting for, but the truth is that the majority of votes will make no difference to the election.

Most constituancies will not change hands no matter what. These are where the most disaffected voters will forsake their normal pattern & register a protest vote.

I happen to live in one of the places that matters. Therefore, do I follow my principles or do I put my cross against a name in an attempt to swing this election? Not an easy decision when IMO. neither Cameron or Milliband deserve my vote.

It may well be that in some areas UKIP will receive a reasonable % of the vote, but the chances of that resulting in more than a maximum of five elected representatives is less likely than Queens Park Rangers playing in The Premier next season.

Will the majority party this year record the lowest % of votes ever received?

I live in the middle east (Oman) and the following policies are in place for foreign professional workers here;

Attested degree is required before entry
2 year renewable visa is the maximum length
2 year medical - fail it and you’re out (Aids, Hep etc)
Hit 65 years of age, you're out old boy!
Private medical insurance is required
Son and daughter born here - no right to passport
You can’t earn interest in the bank
Open a business with £250k minimum required and then only 51:49 ownership split (unless you set up under some US FTA)
Omanisation ratio 4:1 - essentially, open a business and you have to employ 4 locals for 1 expat visa you obtain
Private school - £5,000 one off “contribution” towards Omani education
You can only buy property in special designated zones

I'm in no way b1tching about the above policies, agree with most of them and actually really like this place. However, it just goes to show what some Governments will do to protect their own people. And so long as Oman continues to offer thousands of jobs and millions upon millions of ££££"s for the UK military, BAE and all the other usual suspects, it be seen to be a "friendly" GCC state.

aint got a clue

but with a labour majority of over 3500 I doubt as if my vote will matter

all I know is that ukip are the only party interested in Britain governing itself and cutting immigration ,they wont win like others have said they could get 10% of vote and end up with 1 seat and even with another million votes wouldn't win another seat ,they will almost certainly stop the tories winning as so many will be voting ukip and sadly that will let wallace and little crankie in

o doubt they will mess up and ruin the country again and hopefully we will say goodbye to Scotland at some stage and labour for that matter

You say UKIP are the only party interested in Britain governing itself, then you say goodbye to Scotland and Labour, do you also want to say goodbye to Wales and N.I. ?

You obviously want to leave the E.U. so that means you are only interested in England, if so good luck, I'm glad I'm not like you.

Problem is Europe is about much more than just immigration. Economically leaving Europe is unlikely to be good for the Uk and that is the view of the CBI, with no political allegiance. Additionally UKIP have a Manifesto that no one understands, it's a one ticket campaign - domestic policy is a mystery and the funding equation leaving many unanswered questions.

i read that post in the manner and tone of a exasperated and crushed headmaster , once of jesus collage but now in reduced circumstances forced to take up a post in a forest gate comprehensive shithole, full of latvians and child soldiers from the congo.

ousted from his role in oxford due to a scandal involving young wiggins, a flash light, sawtooth configurations and a tin of regulation 'brasso'.

We are legion. For We are many.We are UKIP

not as brain dead as labours plans to cut the 1.4 trillion deficit by stopping high court judges accomodation allowance when in chambers.

if that does'nt get the country girding its collective fiscal loins, i dont know what will.

i went to junior school (upton cross) in upton park with black stud and gonzo porno star 'mandingo.' real name wayne taylor .

i can tell you this ..im more than comfortable watching his racial equality films with blonde essex milfs, especially with a tub of texturised goose fat to hand. Although his remmington has grown a bit in stature since then.

just like nigels powerbase in fact... uncanny.

With his dis-allowed goal v WHam, perhaps Dunne is the new Mandingo - he certainly poked the back of the net with something rather manful.

It's other European firms that do well out of us. Can you really see the likes of BMW, Renault, Mercedes.. pulling their businesses out of the UK if we leave the EU? We sell more to the rest of the world then we do the EU and that's with EU enforced restrictions on non EU trade.

The thing is that Immigration is the number 1 topic regardless of whether or not people want to accept it. Having a sensible immigration policy would instantly take pressure off education, housing and the NHS. It wouldn't solve all issues and problems, however the pressure on these sectors would be eased making it easier to get a handle on what else needs to be dealt with.
