am i the only dale fan who finds it strange that keith hill is yet again having a go at supporters in todays observer.? hes saying their is no energy from the fans and tuesdays attendance was poor. may i remind mr hill that in december he commented that the club was in a strong financial postion and that he was happy with his squad and no player would be sold to anyone especially a team in our division. so when january comes around we sell our leading scorer matt done to our promotion rival sheff utd . before tuesdays game we had lost 4 out of 6 since dones departure . so mr hill before you start berating the fans for dwindling attendances and lack of atmosphere inside spotland please look at your own actions........

Not going to bother looking at Dale Player tonight because I don't want anything to take away from enjoying today's win or the players efforts. In fact I think I will knock Dale Player on the head because it winds me up.

Agree. My subscription has run out this week and I am not renewing.

I just find it bizarre that you want a wave from Hilly to make everything right. I like a win....and that's it really.

Makes it laughable when people back up their point with "if the managers happy with seliing Done then i am"
I bet the prospect of an additional 40 odd grand bonus must have made the decision nearly impossible

Everyones at it now, saying things a though they are facts for arguments sakes.

Hill is a tosser for selling done, he only did it because its in his contract he gets a blowy off desmond the dragon if he makes more than 100k. Easy decision for keith

Lets say this % clause is true, Surely you're not mongy enough to see that if hill constantly kept selling players to get his cut, he would effect results, you know the very thing which gives him the opportunity to get these pay outs. He sold done because it was in his opinion the right decision for the club, due to the fact the players head had been turned, the club recieved a good fee and he felt we could cope without done.

We're all disappointed done went, just stfu moaning a month later, if you carry on like this you'll be bleeding monthly.

I reckon 500k plus add ons is good business... Especially when the player quadruples his wage... Wake up.... Agreeing with Sweetcorn shocker!

Instead of being dour regarding the fans or seeming to dislike them when support is flat. (makes you think what Keith really says about Dale fans off camera). but.. It would be great if keith would comment maybe tongue in cheek and request more energy from the fans when doing his TV interviews, instead of griping.

if he wants more from the fans - say it. . 'Com'on Sandy give us a song from your 'reportoire' or two for the next game. Lift the players, Tuesday was a bit flat, give us thirty minutes of angelic chorus, fitting for one of Chris Dunphys churches'

' Get in the trenches with Bunney and Henderson, get behind the forwards for the next game they'd appreciate the encouragement. Toe to toe. make Saturdays game special '

prolly bad examples but..

You can say things a thousand ways.. Let the fans know what you want, but you don't have to berate them.

I was in the stand but asking Hilly for a wave is not something I indulge in. There isn't anything to make right, he likes to have a dig at the fans and some of us have a dig back, we don't all have to like each other.

Technically, I think it's virtually impossible for desmond to perform this act. I think it's a bloke in a man made fibre which would prevent 'contact' so to speak.

Although many on here have probably encountered this scenario with a dragon, I suspect Hill will have waived this contract offer.

That said, Desmond has put on some weight!

Discussing anything to do with beastiality on a Football forum is opening a can of worms, it's just wrong. Men dressing up as dragons isn't normal either!!

You wont have heard it, I made it up.

Everyone else is at it though, so i thought i'd try my hand. By this time next week it will be being posted by nordenblue that hilly recieved a blowy behind the dugout off desmond and he'll be stating it's a fact.

No. Listen to his post match interview, he's really upbeat, especially with Andy Cannon. His match assessment is spot on, he doesn't mention the fans once, but he did say we have yet to make our L1 status secure, which we do.

But he does allude to the fans and mentions "being taken for granted".

It's just unnecessary.

A week ago we were going down. Two fantastic wins later, and we don't like what the manager says. Either we will always look for things to be unhappy about, or the expectation is of such a level that we should be getting six points from "the likes of" Crewe and Colchester.

I find his interviews compelling viewing, and to cal him a PR disaster is way off the mark. He's a manager who says what he thinks, and in today's football that's refreshing. Sometimes, you have to read between the lines at what he is saying and there are other times where things are said for a specific purpose. No one ever believed him when he said Donnelly could be the next Grant Holt, but I bet you Donnelly felt about ten foot tall after hearing that and in doing so Hilly squeezed even more the limited resources of George.

As part of that, sometimes he says things that people don't want to hear. Well good, we live in a magnolia world where people get offended at honesty (and trot out the "I'm entitled to my opinion" line when complaining about someone else's opinion). It's good that even we as supporters are constantly challenged rather than having our egos massaged.

I'd hate it if we had one of those sycophantic managers who tell supporters what they want to hear. We've had them before and we'll have them again in the future where fans are told how special they are by a manager simply trying to garner support because they aren't very good at their job. Was the atmosphere and crowd better than Tuesday? Job done.

And if he's on 10% of transfer fees received, then great. I'm pleased for him that he is getting the financial reward for the job that he is doing and it gives us a fighting chance of keeping him as a manager as we'll never be able to afford to pay him what he deserves in pure salary.

And whilst no one has gone as far as to say it, the talk of the 10% has almost suggested that Done was sold to bolster Hill's pay packet which is a massive insult to the man who has done more to this club than anyone else in history.

It's the expectation again - we expect Hill to be the best manager we've ever had, we expect him to be able to compete against sides with wage bills three or four times of our own, we expect him to have the club in the best financial state it's ever been, but it must be on our terms.
