Delighted for him. That should silence a few for the time being.
It wont for long, George has gone now they'll need a new main target on here, just a shame Rose cant make a few appearances to share some of the flack. Great result tonight

Just got back. Would like to wish TK the best of luck dislodging Tanser from the first 11 after that performance. Also, we have one cracking young midfield duo developing in Bastien and Allen. Dawson looked a shade fitter too and as for Jack O'Connell.... the word solid does him no justice.

We play Barnsley at home on the 4th Oct.
The JPT is the 7th. We will draw Barnsley at Oakwell.
Doubt it.
Fairly sure round two is also regionalised by North West and North East (it was last year), so if so, it will be one of bury, Carlisle, Morecambe, Oldham, Port Vale, Preston or Tranmere.

It won't be the biffos in the next round as they are in the north east section.

Don't be daft NB, George wasn't a target, he was shit, and he still got great support at games!
The same applies to Andrew.

Possession with progression.

With Bennett starting on the bench last night and Hendo rested, I believe Scott Tanser is now the only Dale player to have started every game this season. Well done lad!

No not a target at all, just a 4 page thread about him everytime he dared kick a ball.We knew how limited George was/is but many still criticised him, the same applied when Joey T was here and the next guy will be Andrew. Its great how many class Andrew as shit already after not even a handful of games, its amazing really,

I think you make a fair point but slating a player on the fans forum is different to doing it at the match itself. Most players at this level have faults so they do get highlighted at times. Donnelly was unfortunate due to the fact he had a terrible first touch, coupled with cows arse and banjo syndrome.
I don't think Hilly signed Andrew to provide the goals as such, more to bring others into play and give us a physical presence. If he can get a few more goals out of him all well and good.
The scapegoat point is right though, down the years we have had a few

Only 4 pages? Must have been the games he was an unused sub.

George wasn't given anything but full support from the majority up until the beginning of this season.
A messageboard is hardly indicative and representative of the whole of our fanbase. Any criticism of him was justified and was reactive as opposed to being proactive.
Everyone I know wanted George to do well, he just wasn't very good.
Thompson on the other hand seemed to be a different story, perhaps owing to the fact that he had the potential to become a good player and never really lived up to it.

A lot of that "great support" was ironic, people willing to cheer him on because we were doing well despite his presence. It wasn't there when Coleman was in charge and his incompetence was costing us.

A message board is a representation of the fanbase, otherwise we would all agree on everything on here.George in many ways was like a modern day Jon Bowden bags of running and effort but generally pretty poor from memory

Donnelly wasn't fit to lace Bowdens boots, think you got your players mixed up.

Most of us will accept that George was a 100% committed Dale player. He never gave anything less than his all, but it has to be said that he was out of his depth in League One. That's not George's fault, just an acknowledgement that his skill levels were lacking at this level.
That said, starting a thread on here about getting shut of him, (or anyone else) whilst the Bradford game is still in progress is poor. We all have views on George and I will always remember him as someone who did his best, though he was lacking in areas of his game.
Slagging him off is pointless. I hope he can find a home at Prenton Park and make it a successful move.

Only a very small cross section of fans though. For what it's worth, I saw George get far more abuse on here than I ever did during games. Mind you that might be different depending on where you're located around the stadium. I didn't see him as a scapegoat though, he was just a victim of his own shortcomings and all the fans did were sorta state the obvious.
