The Laudrup era.... 13:26 - Mar 25 with 2109 views | nj2001 | Just to make everything clear, im not posting this to make anyone upset or disrespect the decition to fire Laudrup as a coach. The reasons for letting Laudrup go have been many - but Laudrup is one of the most honest coaches in football, he was that as a player and as now as a coach. If he feels that any promises given to him is not meet, he will become a problem, because he is a mand of his word, and expect that of his chairman aswell. Many claims Laudrup causes problems in the clubs he represent, but the same "problem" occurred in Getafe, Spartak Moscow and Mallorca FC - he was given promises and the chairman let him down by not keeping his promises regarding transfers and other issues. What im trying to say is that when The Swans signed Laudrup I was a following the team every weekend, I have not been a Swans fan before - but Laudrup gave Swansea the players that made them play wonderful offensive football, and the top scorer in Michu. Im just so sorry to see Laudrups contract terminated - because he gave the club so much. Injuries (especially Michu with his 22 goals last season) combined with the fact that bigger clubs now see Swansea as a top 10 club and do NOT underestimate them made this season a bit harder for Laudrup, but still he beat United at Trafford and still he took The Swans further in the Euro-league - when I saw Monk putting in reserves against Everton in the FA cup I was stunned ? - what about the big win at Trafford. I hope you Swans fans see how good Laudrup was for the club - its ok to get som fresh blood sometimes if the results is bad - but I dont see it as bad coaching from Laudrup. Monk is struggeling the same as Laudrup with injuries from some of the best players in the squard, and no one can win with 1/4 of the best players absent. Hope The Swans stays in the Prem - im not following the team as close anymore but hope for the best. Im a dane, so im sorry for spelling mistake :)

The Laudrup era.... on 13:31 - Mar 25 with 2072 views | scottishjack | Laudrup gave us all a great season, one of the very best. For whatever reason, that couldn't be repeated this year and there appeared to be many problems. Now he has gone and we move on, I wish Laudrup all the very best in the future, but we have to move on...
The Laudrup era.... on 13:32 - Mar 25 with 2068 views | pansypants | The Laudrup era....is over....BUT we still are sorting out his mess tactically. The guy did well in his first season and we won a cup at Wembley. He's not the first ever manager to get sacked after winning a cup. His apathy on the touchline and in after match interviews was as much his downfall as was his poor team selections and tactics. ------------------THE END------------

I've honestly never known a sacking like this and there's been some beauties over the last few years.

The Laudrup era.... on 13:43 - Mar 25 with 2010 views | pencoedjack | Will remain 1 of my favourite Swans managers ..... Didn't agree with his sacking Think we would not be in the position we find ourselves in now if he had stayed Couldn't give a fuk he didn't jump around on the touchline. All that said time to move on. I hope Monk keeps us up & then we get a proper manager in this summer, with Monk as his number 2. I await the firing squad.

A positive that I take from it is at least we've not been split at the Liberty by holding demos, and marches. WE are Swansea City - lets move on and show some class!!! The team needs us now more than ever. GET IT!!!!

That sums it up to be fair . The anti Laudrup garbage being sprouted all over the place was dreadful . I think we will still stay up no problem , I thought we would finish top 10 again this season also . Those are just my humble opinion & we will never know . Very dissapointed with the board . Monks been chucked in the deep end . Arsenal 2 - 2 Swans Keeping the faith.

Tom I hope you are right with .... 'I think we will still stay up no problem' I am normally pretty positive but am now starting to doubt it.

Nah We will stay up , I am quite positive about that . We've had some bad luck this season, a lot of bad calls against us .With Laudrup in charge we missed some good chances during games . The same can be said about Monks reign . Everyone is available now , no injuries & to be fair to monk he's had a fair share of players missing also . Think we will hit 38 points .

Who is the question directed to ? Of course Swansea existed and I am sure posters will have different opinions on Laudrup. Whats your point ?
The Laudrup era.... on 16:01 - Mar 25 with 1744 views | AnotherJohn | Laudrup gave me some of the best memories I've had following the Swans. He made some mistakes and the record since the 5-0 reverse against Liverpool did put him in the frame for the sack. That being said, few of us know what really happened last summer and whether Laudrup's plans were undermined by failure to sign his target players. I feel regret that - even if he did need to leave - the manner of his dismissal fell below the standards I would expect. I see from a report today that he still lives in Swansea, wishes us all the best and believes we will stay up. We should wish him well too, and welcome him to the Liberty if he wants to see the odd game. Like everybody else I desperately hope Garry can keep us up; he has been thrown in the deep end and also deserves our support.
