Absolutely woeful substitutions from Monk AGAIN 18:16 - Mar 2 with 7807 views | DwightYorkeSuperstar | Two games in a row he has made terrible subs and tacticul changes throwing the win away. What everybody sees in him I don't know. He's totally out of his depth. #MONKOUT

Absolutely woeful substitutions from Monk AGAIN on 18:21 - Mar 2 with 3973 views | BLAZE | Desperate for him to succeed. Think our performances on the whole have been excellent under him and he's clearly a good motivator. But his tactical ability is starting to concern me. Feels like the Bony and Williams subs were premeditated, but given the way the second half was panning out I don't think he should've made them

People who are capable of thinking for themselves saw that Laudrup needed to go long before the rest of our fanbase decided to wake up. Once again there is this false sense of security regarding Monk being our manager. I'm sure excuses such as 'it wasn't even a penalty' will be thrown around in 30mins time. It doesn't matter. Once again we fell away with 30mins to go following bizzare subs and tactical changes. Dreadful.

Yea I think hes a great motivator, but there doesn't seem to be any plan! Its just sort of "GO FOR IT!" Thats not gonna work all the time. I think he'd make a great number 2 for someone for the time being.
Absolutely woeful substitutions from Monk AGAIN on 18:26 - Mar 2 with 3887 views | oh_tommy_tommy | Probably the worst decision I have ever seen . Lita for bony If that was laudrups decision there would have been seats throw on the pitch . Hypocrisy is rife .

That's what I'm thinking. Stick with him until the end of the season, then have him as a No.2 for next season.

I agree! He seems a very good motivator, but he has not the whole trainer education where You learn a lot about tactics, agreements among the players etc. Anyway overall I think he has made the players perform well, but the results has been poor.

Absolutely woeful substitutions from Monk AGAIN on 18:33 - Mar 2 with 3655 views | Plasticman | To be fair, we don't know if there were injuries or other reasons for the subs. Pablo off early on, for example, you could see Pablo walking around looking decidedly unhappy before he was taken off. I'm more worried that the continous high energy usage monk seems to be wanting is causing undue tiredness and/or strains. I guess in this regard it is good we only got the league games now, so the boys will get more restitution between matches.

Absolutely woeful substitutions from Monk AGAIN on 18:37 - Mar 2 with 3558 views | pansypants | I heard on Sky that Pulis has 900 games as a manger and Monk not even double figures. The lift Pulis must have got from the changes Monk did was a gift to Palace

Absolutely woeful substitutions from Monk AGAIN on 18:40 - Mar 2 with 3510 views | acejack3065 | He didn't make any "tactical" substitutions today. Ash and Bony had to come off because they were dead on their feet because of all the games we have had. Tiredness took its toll today against a well drilled, organised and fighting for their life Tony Pullis team. It happens.

Williams looked fine and he didn't have to bring Lita on when we had Emnes on the bench who has been doing well!
Absolutely woeful substitutions from Monk AGAIN on 18:45 - Mar 2 with 3410 views | aspas45 | Its still a lot better than the Laudrup days of late. We are now able too play well for longer than just 20 to 30 minutes.

Possibly, but Bony had to come off. I would have changed formation because we were being overrun. I think that a Championship striker (at best) was going to make things worse and as you say, if Laudrup had done that there would have been hissy fits.

He might have wanted to play Lita upfront on his own because I would have guessed that he would have posed a greater threat in the air than Emnes. I don't think monk has played him upfront on his own yet.

Spot on. And Emnes is not an out-and-out striker, which leaves Lita and Vasquez as being the only two options available. I know which I'd rather see on the field. *Why* Bony was substituted should be the only question people are asking with regards to Monk's touchline decisions. The capitulation which began 20 minutes before the first substitution of the second half should be of most concern.

Absolutely woeful substitutions from Monk AGAIN on 18:59 - Mar 2 with 3193 views | A_Fans_Dad | Emnes was a far better option as he has had game time and played well. Plus he works really well with the rest of the team. Nobody has pointed out that the real problem was the first half. 80% possession, brilliant play and only 1 goal, if they had been buried by 2 or 3 there would have been no way back for them.
