Swans to lodge official complaint over fans treatment in Italy on 21:54 - Feb 28 by Swanjaxs | If Britain is such a cesspit why do you visit so often? Anyway mate fair play to you, you've backed your city to the hilt and for that you get my respect |
My job makes me travel. Which is kinda boring. Don't get me wrong by the way, I am aware of all you write and I am willing to respect relaxed opinions. I just don't believe it's a tourist matter. Those are our problems to face. Good and bad is everywhere. Oslo is perfect. Would I live there? Kill me. And yes respect is the word for this kind of posts. Jumping from football to nonsense is indeed nonsense.

Swans to lodge official complaint over fans treatment in Italy on 22:47 - Feb 28 with 1630 views | Neapolitanlondoner | Sisao has simply responded to an offensive message written by someone using a lot of stereotypes, and idiocracy. I can understand he was pissed at missing a large portion of the game, but calling poverty stricken city, filthy etc, and then others users calling us c***ts etc, and then we would be the uncivilised people? There are dirtier city and dirtier people. Having cleaners all over the place constantly cleaning after the mess made by its citizen does not make those citizen cleaner or more civilised (e.g. London). In most British major city, poverty and filth has been hidden away in large council estates and specific out of sight Area. Naples is full of problems, but with probably un unrivaled history, culture and natural beauty to most cities in the world, that I would not need to be compared to a small town of about 200k citizen where the tourist guides suggests to visit malls. Swansea had virtually nothing to offer, especially compared to Cardiff, but have not read comments on that regards. We came with respects and seeking and offering advice, as it would be good sense in 2014 between supporters of different sport teams wishing to travel to support their teams, but it become quickly apparent as stupid and ignorant people can be found everywhere and spoil it for others. For the other users with a more sane perspective, that have commented using their brains, kudos to you, I am personally proud that you appreciated and/or understood my city and genuinely sorry that the police plans to avoid troubles apparently include getting the supporters in the stadium after the match has started, and that this has obviously spoiled your experience.

I have been to Porto, and actually has a lot to offer in terms of history and culture, but nature made it an unfriendly place to visit due to being built uphill... The airport is one of the nicest in Europe, a lot bigger then needed

Swans to lodge official complaint over fans treatment in Italy on 23:07 - Feb 28 with 1591 views | blackjackwood | I've got to say, I'm still in Naples and yes it is old and yes the driving is manic and the fans are passionate We used the tube to and from the stadium and we didn't get stabbed . . . .24 hours on and in amongst the backyard of the ultras . . . I still haven't yet been stabbed BUT I've been in in several bars and met and talked to loads of locals and every one of them has been fantastic !!! Not just most welcoming but really complimentary about how good were the Swans . . . It was the police who caused the delays to the busses NOT the Napoli fans ! AND it was a dozen or so of our own fans who were causing tension at the bottom of the stairs ( which were swilled with urine ! ) while were waiting to exit not the Napoli fans ! Thank you Naples for a great experience. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Swans to lodge official complaint over fans treatment in Italy on 23:17 - Feb 28 with 1578 views | Fuggie | What I think is upsetting our fans is this. Despite being a "small" club compared to Napoli we were able to move 1700 Redbirds from Cardiff 40 miles away to our ground and back without any issues and in fairness they were able to do the same when we played there. Napoli and their local police force could not shift 900, semi sober, fans 5 miles (30 mins max) down the road despite having done it a number of times in the past. I would actually doubt if this was accidental and suspect that the club treats all clubs like this. I cannot also remember any issues with Napoli fans struggling to get into the Liberty when they visited last week. Unless they were propositioning a few individuals in the Kinds Arms on High Street. Never mind onwards and upwards. Good luck to Napoli for the rest of the competition. For the Swans 3 points against Palace on Sunday is my only concern.
Swans to lodge official complaint over fans treatment in Italy on 23:34 - Feb 28 with 1552 views | Andy1300 | I will speak as I find, we are having a great time in Sorrento, been to Capri, Pompeii on the train and not had a bit of bother. Plenty of people see the Swans badge on my clothing and are curious about us. No trouble, not even when on the bus to the ground which arrived in plenty of time. The police that escorted us were great, having photos taken with our lot and generally enjoying the banter. Such a shame that not everyone got the same experience. I will be back for a holiday, if not next year then the year after. Thanks for making us feel so welcome.

Swans to lodge official complaint over fans treatment in Italy on 00:49 - Mar 1 with 1509 views | Trundle10 | Stayed in Rome (not impressed) and travelled to Naples with On the Ball travel. as per previous posters, got there in plenty of time and was lucky enough to be in the ground in time to catch all he goals, Just. Would have loved to have got in the ground early tho. You pay all that money and the police fack it up. It was an absolute shambles. When we were eventually let off the buses we all ran toward the ground, to give you an idea on distance it was probably as far as the park and ride is from the liberty. The police started bumping us with riot shields it was totally over the top We were parked in an avenue and there was only one way to the stadium so it could have easily been contained. Inside the ground one of the Naploi fans was in an entirely empty section of seating in the lower tier behind the goal and was throwing missiles at us as the stewards looked on and did absolutely nothing. some police were jumping around when Napoli scored. When you combine this with the was SWP treated the Napoli fans at the liberty, it does leave a bitter taste in your mouth.

Swans to lodge official complaint over fans treatment in Italy on 06:23 - Mar 1 with 1458 views | Dull1Thomas | I see UEFA say they can't comment on what happened outside the ground in Naples. (Maybe they should look at the stewarding but that's another thread.) but then I read a comment from SWP after the home leg :- '"The feedback we have received from the UEFA delegation tonight is that this was an excellent policing and security operation which I think everyone involved in can be extremely proud of." !!

Swans to lodge official complaint over fans treatment in Italy on 21:45 - Feb 28 by sisao | Oasis in 2002...worst gig ever....surrounded by horrible people with a horrible accent in a horrible city. And yes i was scared at night walking around the city centre where the whole thing is based on the alcohol abuse and priomoridial instincts. See i have seen a loooong list of cities in the UK, and a loooot of them are way worse than mine...at least Napoli is beautiful and has a heart that beats loud. It's a mess i know...you ate it or you love it..in all cases you never convince yourself of being superior cos you're not. Sorry i got a writing rush that will stop immediately to initiate my weekend properly...i thought you guys were seriously a bunch of nice guys willing to accept any difference with no easy judgement...you're just british after all. |
No stereotyoes there then. The way the authorities managed your supprters here was awesome, you had everything you wanted and needed. Your cun try is a cesspit when it comes to football, and what comes around goes around. Just you see.

Glad that someone had fun in my city, afterall it's the best italian experience that you can get. Regarding the delay that's a USUAL local police procedure. Almost every guest fans are let in after the kick-off. This is to prevent incidents outside the stadium at the arrival of busses or fans escorted. Our 'dear' old bills 'work' in this way, not good enough to manage the public order they prefer to avoid problems, it doesnt matter if a ticket costs a lot and if someone has travelled long distance to watch a match. FYI several italian guest fans were let in only at the second half of the match, so consider yourself 'lucky'... Respet for your support and for your team, you both deserved more

Swans to lodge official complaint over fans treatment in Italy on 22:55 - Mar 1 with 1100 views | snork44 | The Italians have treated all British fans the same post Heysel . Unfortunately Plod whether they are Italian or UK have a stereotypical view of football fans and the Italians equate British fans to murdering thugs. This is what you will get when you go to Italy whether it is Rome, Turin ,Milan or Naples, ignorance is rife and will always be there.

Swans to lodge official complaint over fans treatment in Italy on 00:38 - Mar 2 with 1066 views | cupidstunt | Just back myself. Stayed in Rome, over 5 hours on a bus down but only 2 on return. Know of Swans fans who were part of an attempted pick pocket, personally witnessed two thefts whilst in different bars. Italian police need to get a huge personality boost. This myth have helped to diffuse potential flash points whilst trying to leave the stadium. Police heavy handed and just looking for trouble. Personally, would I return? No never in a million years.

Be thankful for small mercies. I thought the riot police were sensible and professional. Giving the volatility of Napolis's senior stewards and particularly when we were herded into a caged area alongside another section (fencing between) where Napoli fans had been allowed to stay the riot squad stayed calm nowhere they could easily have started wielding batons. On the incident under the stand; can anyone tell me why a row of stewards had set themselves in front of a fence in an area of the concourse no one was moving to? Then why when we were all pointed at the exit many were directed in the opposite direction, ie towards a dead end, line of stewards, Napoli fans and just the right number of riot police to form a barrier between the stewards and the Swans fans? Shambles? I don't think so.
