Times Rumor 16:50 - Feb 23 with 39480 views | itsbiga | Mate of mine is a sports correspondent at The Times. Strong rumor going round there today that Harry is toast in the morning. He said "Should be in tomorrow's paper I think" Sure its total rumor but thought I'd share it for some drama. [Post edited 23 Feb 2014 16:56]

Times Rumor on 18:28 - Feb 24 by Antti_Heinola | Journo writes positive Redknapp piece shocker. "There is a long way to go until Redknapp has the young, cohesive unit he surely wants to be working with" Ha ha! Hughes left 15 months ago. Since then Redknapp has signed, I think it's 20 players. This has very little to do with Hughes anymore. |
Ah! I thought that line was ironic.......... but no, you're right.

Times Rumor on 18:37 - Feb 24 with 2329 views | RangersDave | 6.30 and he's still at Rangers! Tony, he's pulling your pants down, can't you see it? Lazily loaning in Lazy rubbish to appease you and the few gullible fans out here, all the while not trying (and no I don't think he is!) to earn his weekly wedge. We are 4th, by 7 points but on Saturdays performance that could easily be 4 points this weekend. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to see we are slipping and unable under Harryto rectify it either. Where's the spirit? The passion? The desire? It wasn't shown by many on Saturday in a match we should have won and has been pretty much the same all season! In a position based on fortune rather that skill and playing with authority. Have you seen the statistics from that match? Does it not worry you? Sort it out mate!

That is how I see it. Would love to have a day at Wembley. Dread the prospect of losing in the Semi Finals...

Yeh he came into a horrible situation but this is his team now. On Saturday only Green and Hill weren't signed by him I think? Oh Onuoha as well, three.

Times Rumor on 17:13 - Feb 24 by WatfordR | Umm...I thought that the core reason we were struggling was down to the players? Or was that yesterday? Tomorrow, perhaps we can blame the pitch. On Wednesday it will be the fans (the anti-Redknapp ones obviously), and one Thurdsay it will be, err....umm....ah yes, leaves on the line. Fck know where we go after that. |
all i said yesterday was the players have to share some of the blame for not creating and scoring chances.

I think its unlikely that anyone could come in and turn it around to guarantee promotion. How much longer is Harry's contract? Can we run it down and either he fixes this or we (crank up the transfer controls and) wait for him to get twitchy and walk away?

thinking outside the box with that sort of appointment only works if the structure of the club is a lot stronger than what we currently have

I think you'll find we'l finish in the playoffs, somehow get to the final, lose very badly and miserably, not get promoted then Harry will retire because of his knee. Just to rub it into the fans a bit more like.

of course you can, we did it before and until a month ago were doing it this year as well but it never lasts and it falls apart pretty quickly

Times Rumor on 11:23 - Feb 24 by FDC | I was never a fan of Redknapp before he came here, and have always resented what he represents as a QPR manager. Thing is, I agree with Clive in the match report: sacking him is only an answer if you think TF and friends will make a change in philosophy and start looking at the building of a QPR side that we can all be proud of as a long term job. They have never given any indication of this at all unfortunately, so we're likely to continue with the pattern of 'new manager - load of signings - disjointed team full of over-paid past its - under achieve - new manager - etc'. So sick of all this, what do I do to quit? |
You can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave.

Times Rumor on 14:57 - Feb 24 by Antti_Heinola | we don't have the players?! Hoilett Kranjcar Maiga Doyle Keane Traore SWP AJ Zamora Morrison Benayoun Austin Phillips look, they're all either new, under performing, injured or whatever, but we've always had a decent selection from this lot to choose from. To say we don't have the players is ludicrous. They've been managed and coached very poorly - not that they're blameless of course, far from it, but attacking is like defending in a way. You don't necessarily need the 4 best defenders in the league to have the best defence - it's about organisation and understanding and doing your job. Same with the attack - whatever your players, you can find ways to be bright and attacking. Look at Donny when they came to us! OK, they lost, narrowly, but they attacked quickly, attractively, with purpose and with a will to win. Doncaster, I'm talking about here. We've scored 37 goals, Dave, the same number as Bolton and Bournemouth. Only Brighton in the TOP 17 have scored less than us, and Derby have scored 23 MORE. Blaming what players we have is absolutely the last excuse that could be used for our timid play. |
How many games have this lot played together? We talk about short termism's but calling for Rednapp departure just over halfway through the season is crazy talk if you ask me. I'm not saying Rednapp is blameless for recent performance's but there is still time to turn it round. Injuries havnt helped the cause but Rednapp had done some great business for us and some poor. Making the playoffs this season with the turn around of players Rednapp has had to do is not a sackable offence imo. Why would Malcy Mackie come to a club that gets rid when the going gets tough.

Times Rumor on 23:07 - Feb 24 with 2195 views | derbyhoop | What is Harry's brief? He got rid of 19 last Summer, cutting the wage bill by about £15m. He also raised £13m in transfer fees, of which we've spent about £10m. When January came was he only given license to bring in loanees and v short term deals for zero outlay. He's not got an unblemished record , though. Chevanton was a short term fix while AJ and BZ were crocked but he didn't get a chance. Onweyu didn't look a good deal at the time, especially when we were sending Ehmer out on loan. Benayoun is even more inexplicable. The injuries to Simpson, Faurlin, Phillips and Austin would hurt any side but the January dealings smack of either panic or wheeling and dealing out of habit. Paying 8 loanees while only being able to pick 5 is ridiculous. It's all very well rotating the squad but the scale of the changes from match to match starts to look like a lucky dip. At this stage I'm not convinced we can do any better but the Summer might/should herald a change. We should be drawing up a short list of who we want after Harry, whether he goes this season or at the end of his contract. But that would indicate some sort of plan. More and more Harry looks like he should be bracketed with Brian Robson and Reidy.

Times Rumor on 23:17 - Feb 24 with 2163 views | BklynRanger | I don't want HR with us beyond this season because he seems less and less committed to the job. He didn't seem to want to stay in the summer as far as I could tell, and now there's this story about his knee that was probably planted by him anyway. I really think the most sensible thing to do now would be work out a settlement with him that lets him leave at the end of the season. Then let TF etc use the rest of this season to do some actual, proper planning of who to approach, why, and what they can contribute to the club over the next 4 or 5 years. Everything above board, everybody's ego sufficiently stroked and maybe a bit of thought put into things for a change.
