Because i'm a geek i've set up an excel spreadsheet of all the teams, maximum points and potential finishing positions. To explain, the first column is the maximum points needed to get that position, 2nd how many more points we need to get to achieve that position and how many Points Per Game we need to get for the position. Simple! I have included Leeds as I have a bet on with my mate for a curry! I am of course aware that you only get 3 points for a win, but kept 1st & 2nd on there in the hope that the PPG will reduce over time.....5 more wins to not come bottom, 6 more wins and we are safe, 12 more wins for a curry, 13 more wins to get the playoffs.
Points To go PPG Champions 115 60 3.75 2nd 105 50 3.125 6th 94 39 2.4375 Leeds 90 35 2.333333333 22nd 73 18 1.2 24th 70 15 0.9375
Apologies for my geekiness
The figures looked squashed compared to the preview but hopefully you get the idea.

Our form over the season is 2.53 points per game against the bottom 12 clubs and against the top half clubs 1.20 points per game. 9 games remaining versus the bottom group (22.77) 7 games versus top group (8.4) So our final points could be as high as 87 points, our season changes completely when or if we beat Nottingham Forest and Leicester, I think those games will decide whether we make the automatic places rather than the playoffs. If we continue on our current form of the last 6 games and others maintain their form we'll fail to make the play-offs, our form needs to return to the average for the season, otherwise it's all over.

It's funny that things are this way round, for years we've been the kind of team that wind the difficult games and loses the easy ones.
