Thanks lads (and any lasses). I’ve enjoyed the visits and will plug Clive elsewhere
No you can’t have Jack Clark back, no I’m not sure promotion would be a great idea for us just now (he lied) and yes, I’ll leave you for now with one little anecdote. When Nathalie, my younger daughter, played for QPR ladies, she scored a goal, a winning goal and such a fantastic goal in a friendly against a US team, Vermont, that they urged her to apply for a ‘soccer’ scholarship with them. Nathalie wasn’t interested (and maybe they said the same to any girl who scored against them) but it might have changed her life.

I've had anther bite at this cherry - https://www.francesalut.com/2023/02/the-loftus-road-massacre-that-qpr-fans-maste - simply to draw these great replies to SAFC fans' attention. And yes, I've read the Boro report, which would have been worth the effort for the crack about the drum alone. Oh and the description of their pen

We’ve been where you are and worse. I’m a Sunderland fan but have spent most of my adult life living closer to Loftus Road than Roker Park or the Stadium of Light. I hope you get out of this mess whoever the manager is.
I no longer have the Salut Sunderland fan site but had to find a home for some of Clive’s sensationally funny, sad, tragic, irreverent, incisive report from our recent game. Bravo ! With his consent, extracts appear at

Your case is a reminder of what these scandalous late changes actually mean for ordinary fans. It is mentioned by a Sunderland fan who lives in the So'ton area in a comment added to this piece. http://salutsunderland.com/2013/10/the-switched-southampton-game-when-fans-come-

The point here is not that the date was changed but that it was first confirmed by the grandly titled SAFC Safety Advisory Group, which includes police (who sought a switch), and only 10 days later changed. My own comment; "whoever is most to blame, the result is the same: fans suffer and are offered weasel words of comfort".

Thanks heavens, Dune (I think it was) who questioned the representational status of the FSF, that someone is out there batting for supporters.

Perhaps the reductionsat Chelsea apply only to tickets bought singly. Let me quote from what Ian Todd, a SAFC supporter and also a prominent figure in the National Federation of Football Supporters' Clubs (I think that is its name), said in his letter to your chef exec protesting about prices for Saturday: "This on the day when tickets go on sale for our game at Chelsea with a 50 per cent reduction for Over 65s — ie £16.50 cheaper than at Loftus Road."

For anyone interested,I now have a more general QPR fan view on my site (with a link back to this thread): http://salutsunderland.com/2013/03/the-qpr-v-safc-who-are-you-why-were-still-goi

Apols for the typos. Rattled off with the usual clunky fingers.

Can I just say, as the author of the piece quoted from Salut! Sunderland, that I appreciate responses here (I was called a moron on Twitter but that was prpbably because I highlighted the "deserving relegation" aside in my twe,et so I cannot complain).

The truth is that this is a football issue, not just a QPR or Sunderland one. I think our prices for adults start at around £25 but, having no season ticket this season for the first time in years because I work part of the year in France, have paid £30+ though that was for a great seat just above the dug-outs.

I tried to make allowance for the London v The Rest argument in terms of price structure, but there's still a massive difference, taking my mate's example, of £65 for himself, two nippers and an OAP at WBA, and £125 if he'd done the same at your place.

Since my home's in Ealing and I have seen my younger daughter score in your hoops when she played for QPR Ladies, it shouldn't surprise anyone that I have absolutely nothing against the club and certainly the fans.

I paid £5 at Fulham by the way. OK that's cheating - one of daughter's current teammates is a season tiucket holder and they had an offer on for the neutral section. No idea what our lot paid in the away end, but I do now other clubs, even Chelski, give much better concessions.

Come back to my site tomorrow and you'll see see a decent QPR fan interview. I will be watching from afar but a life of serial disappointment makes me predict a home win.
