Ospreys
at 20:22 25 Dec 2024

Only Cardiff and Llanelli are standalone, they kept their names, the Ospreys and th Dragons were the only 2 actual regions and the fans of Neath and Swansea were bitter about that.

It's something you never understand or accept, when something is done in a shoddy, mediocre or bad way, people won't like it.

The product is poor and that is down to the WRU and their silly rules as much as the regions. The caps rule along with the financial cuts have driven players out of Wales. That has affected the quality at regional and international level.

The logic isn't faulty and the mindset isn't what you claim it to be, it's not timid or negative. They are striving to improve, they want to take control of their own stadium and how it's run.

The Swans would be within their rights to renegotiate given this change. That doesn't mean they should try and "rinse" the Ospreys though.

The Ospreys are not direct rivals, it's a different sport to srat with and from what I have read the revamped St Helens won't have the level of facilities of the Swansea.com. They were never partners either, they were lodgers who will now have their own home.

The last bit, that's your opinion. If the Ospreys are run properly there's no reason they can't compete. As long as the WRU starts making better decisions.

The Swans job now is to make the best use of the stadium, to look after themselves as well as they possibly can and we don't need to worry about rugby tearing up the pitch anymore either. We have more to worry about thatn the Ospreys.

New finances logged by the Swans : But what are the implications ?
at 18:08 25 Dec 2024

Show me one post of mine where I have EVER said I favour all decisions taken by Westminster, they are not all non Welsh people either, we have our elected reps there.

I blame the Sened for their stupidity. The PFI money they have spent that will cost Wlaes hundreds of millions, the costs of the 20mph change that didn't need to be spent, the raising of numbers in the Senedd that will cost more millions and for what?

As critical as I have been of the Senedd, I have been fiercely croitical of Westminster too. This is the part you don't understand. We spend enough money on one collection of useless fools, why spend more money on more useless fools? The more politicians we have, the worse things get.
The more politicians we have the less money there is for the things we nreally do need. Teachers, medical staff, police, we need more. Infratsructure that is 50 years out of date and we have no money or the political will to upgrade it yet we have the money and political will for more snouts in the government trough.

I blame the Senedd for the things they get wrong and for over 25 years now I haven't been stupid enough to vote Labour or Tory.

What about you?

The folly of selecting Grimes
at 12:16 25 Dec 2024

I don't think selecting Grimes is the folly, the tactics, strategy and other team selections are.

Grimes could be a very good player for us, we've seen in in spits and spurts.

Something that bothers me is the idea that football is more cerebral these days. Sport is instinctive. The best players don't take ages thinking about the next pass, the run or the shot, they just do it. You don't have all day to think about it because they get closed down, tackled, at the very least put off. Part of my problem with Grimes AND our football as a whole is we are so slow, it's why we struggle. We let teams close us down and end up going backwards.
We need to be quicker of thought AND deed. If what we do, how we play is on the bosses instructions then he needs to change his attitude or he can ship out too.

It's a well known saying in football, pace terrifies the oppositiom, Dabn James scared the life out of defenders. At the same time, a slow paced team delights the opposition because they carry very little threat unless you are even slower and less able.

It can as cerebral as they like but slow football bores the panst off me and I'm sure I'm not alone.

It is a business decision not an attack on our football club. If the Swans felt a move was best for them even though it may harm the rugby, they'd do it.

Besides, I never mentioned favours and what you suggested was very mean spirited and would have been an act of revenge, a fair price is what should be charged and it should not be seen as a chance for revenge.

I will say though, if the WRU scrap what has historically been the best performing region it would be an act of extreme stupidity to alongside anything they have already done. They are killing Welsh rugby while all the time reaping the rewards of their positions, high wages, priviliges and status that they hardly deserve. The international side has only won once in over a year and that was against the Barbarians. The whole organisation has been wrecked and the leadership muct carry the can.

New finances logged by the Swans : But what are the implications ?
at 11:52 25 Dec 2024

How can the "South Wales mentality" be holding the Swans back when the Swans have, for the last 8 years, been owned by Americans?

If it's a "south Wales mentality" then why is it the fans made their displaeasure well known? What is passive, timid and low risk about haranguing the people who you usually stuck up for, still stick up for even after all the damage Levein and Kaplan did?

Not forgetting your slating of a brave move by the Ospreys to try and kick start their prospects, your slating could be seen as a passive, timid and low risk atitude by saying they should stay where they are? The Ospreys made a brave move, maybe you should be lauding it, not criticising it.

You do love to criticise your fellow South Walians, is it a superiority complex? Are you an egotist who believes you are right even when you are so onviously wrong?

Well complaint still is about the shoddy way they handled the whole thing and wasted millions doing so, obviously if they saved lives it's a good thing but I've yet to see the evidence.

I have noticed quite a few deaths on Welsh roads since this though so I'd really like to know.

Second BREXIT Referendum

Well the UK is the only Sovereign nation and the 4 members of that union are there with the blessing of the majorities of their electorate, none of the 4 nations has yet had a majority demanding to leave so unsurprisingly, you are wrong again...oh and a hypocrite too.

How many nations can you name that didn't come about by force of arms?

AHhhh, you were talking about nations, well the UK is a nation, a siovereign nation recognised by and a member of the United Nations, which Wales is not.

Really, it's nothing to do with an inept decision made by a new government that business was saying would have a bad outcome from the moment it was made public?

You need to take your blinkers off, there is a lot more going on than you are seeing.

I saw the story but hadn't read the full details. It's horrifying that a human being can do this to another, even worse that they think he didn't even know her and it was just a random barbarous act.

I couldn't stand, or sit idly by. Those people that did, was it because they feared this obviously dangerous man would attack them and maybe he was carrying a gun? Otherwise how can you explain it?

Ospreys

It needed change, agreed BUT it was the manner of the change that was the problem. If we were to have regions they should have had proper regions and not left Cardiff and Llanelli alone.

I have heard this many times from proper rugby fans, fans who choose not to follow a region too. They say we should have left the clubs to stand in a league structure and put 2, maybe 3 regions in with the clubs based in those regions feeding the senior side.

The suggestion was to Have South East and South West Wales, some felt we should have a region covering the rest of Wales but based up North.
What the WRU did was half assed, it pandered to Cardiff and the Turks but really cheesed off most other rugby fans.
It has nothing to do with a negative mindset either, the rugby fans wanted better but were given dross, the negative mindset belonged to the WRU who even now, when talking about ditching a region never suggest Cardiff or Llanelli but always talk about the other two and one of them is historically the most succesful region, the Ospreys.

The chaos created by the WRU has taken root in the national team too, as we see with it's worst ever run ongoing. Welsh rugby fans have every right to be negative right now. The WRU created this mess and the fans can do nothing about it besides stay away, which it seems they are.

And why do they do that? Maybe because it makes it easier to "adjust" data and give the "right" results.

I've met Grimes, had a brief chat with him about Martin, he doesn't seem the type to stand up to the manager, not to me. he came across as more of a yes man. I really would love to be proved wrong and he's at the managers door voicing the squads concern whenever needed..

3-4000, yeah, time will tell.

Fans on here have been supporting the Ospreys move, well mostly anyway. One poster always attacks them for their move.

If the Ospreys end up regularly locking fans out, they may be able to extend a bit, add another 3k on maybe. I don't know, I am guessing but it doesn't seem as wild a suggestion as some others.

If Coleman tries to rinse them then they may just say to heck with you and go to Llanelli or stay at St Helens which costs the Swansea.com even more money, it's not really a bright idea. They'd come back here to make more profit, not to be rinsed.

As far as I can see there is only one person who still iuses "yank" or "yanks" and that is you. Pretty much everybody else has moved on and is giving the new regime its fair chance.

The trust again, you always attack the trust even when there is no apparent justification.

On a previous thread you reckoned they'd paid a pittnace for it, I can't remember the number you guessed at though, possibly 3 million? It's all guesses though. You do love to tell us stuff but at least this time you have put a disclaimer in, just in case it is complete bs.
