Absolutely, and I suspect it’s one of the reasons Nottm Forest are doing so well this season. Someone mentioned the lack of possession they had against Brighton yet won 7-0. They’re doing exactly what you say - going against the grain, playing their own game. And there’s more than a touch of the old-fashioned about them. Two fast, direct wingers and a big target man up front! I bet their fans are loving it! |

Which way we shoot has little to no relevance. It’s not as though we have a Kop or Stretford End to suck the ball in. For years recently we shot towards the Sandy Lane in the second half, and our home form was the worst it’s been in history. In fact, our few home wins came with more regularity when we shot towards the TDS in the second half. Now that we’ve switched to shoot towards the TDS second half permanently our home form has taken an upturn. I highly doubt it has any relevance though! |

I disagree about chasing just the final playoff spot (if that’s what you meant). I think the last three are up for grabs, with only the current top 4 nailed on. Gateshead are a great footballing side, but they’ve lost a few important players in January and that’s starting to show in their results - they should fall away. Similar with Halifax. I think we’d have to implode spectacularly to miss out on the playoffs, although our record against the top 7 is a reason to believe we won’t do well in them at all. |

Funnily enough, there were a lot of new faces around me tonight. I heard two groups conversing, and the general gist was how are the crowds ever going to rise if they play like this every time we get a good crowd. |

Tragic performance. If McNulty comes out and says anything other than ‘I got it wrong tonight’ then he needs to look at himself. Constant long balls up to Mitchell and he didn’t win a single header all night. Fondop showed him how a target man should be performing. Not a single player apart from Weller can be proud of themselves. I’ve seen more fight in coma patients. |

I won’t be able to attend tomorrow. Would somebody be kind enough to ask if the club have sought legal advice around the company who fitted the super pitch not so long ago with an alleged 10 year guarantee? Whether we have a case against them, or if it’s our own fault for not following correct aftercare procedures. |

One of my favourite ever players, and up there with Mendez-Laing for the best two wingers I’ve ever seen at Dale. (I never saw McCourt in his prime!) |

Strange game indeed, from a strange team! A few stats have emerged over the past week that illuminate where we are as a team. Defensively we can be very pleased. Only FGR have conceded less than us, and we have the best xGA in the league (for those that way inclined). No small feat when we’ve had a number of different keepers play, and our senior defender injured for months. I do think in Sam Beckwith and Kyron Gordon we have two of the best defenders outside the Football League. More than that though, we seem to defend as a team - easily done when you’re a possession-heavy team as we are. Offensively though, so, so poor. We seem to dominate games but then look absolutely clueless when it comes to the final third. The fact we’re 4th in the league for touches in the opposition box yet TWENTY-FIRST (21st) for shots speaks volumes. I found myself thinking last night that there’s more than a touch of the BBMs about us; more focus on possession than entertainment; lots of defensive passing to bulk up those possession stats. In BBM’s squad though, we had the likes of Humphrys, Baah and Beesley in good form up top, with goals coming from further back from Lund and Keohane. Apart from Mitchell’s purple run earlier in the season, where are the bulk of our goals coming from? Ultimately while we’re very impressive defensively, I think we’re far too shot shy and inconsistent to achieve anything this season (though a top-7 finish is still on the cards). |

The Plan B thing is what really sticks in the throat. At each fans’ forum Jim’s been so effusive about how it’s ’total options’ Dale. This isn’t total options at all. It’s one option that was successful for the first two months of the season but has been figured out, yet we still persist with it, with absolutely no sign of changing mid-match. |

Relative to the league we’re in, I mean. I can’t comment on any before Parkin’s second spell, but personally that Erye squad that eventually took us down from League One is the only one I can’t get past. A squad whose defence was built on players like Trottman, Balkestein, Jordan and Holden, and a forward line featuring big hitters like Barnes-Homer and David Ball - this is what gives me nightmares. Not to mention the fact that Andrew Tutte was considered one of our best players. Diabolical all around. |

Dennis I’m quite excited by. My only concern is that we’ve signed another very injury-prone player in a squad already struggling with injuries. |

With Mitchell playing like prime Ibrahimovic I am curious about January. This will be the first transfer window where we have a sellable asset likely in demand, yet we’re financially secure. I know the Ogdens don’t want us to run like ‘enjoy the ride’ bury, but I’ll be intrigued to see if we sell low again or hold out for a genuinely impressive fee. |

Not to mention, our only other conceded goal was a counter against D&R when we were pressing for the winner. |

The environmental argument doesn’t really wash. ‘Single-use plastic’ implies the stickers would be removed after each game. They’re on for a whole season, so not single-use at all. Furthermore, I imagine the majority of ST holders keep the same seats every year, so the ‘single-use’ stickers could actually be left on for years. |

I wouldn't be so sure. The feedback on Twitter is overwhelmingly positive. I think it's quite nice without being excellent, but I think it'll sell well. |

Agree that there are only two realistic winners, and I’m torn. Usually Labour but I’m not exactly won over by them this campaign. |
