Matt Macey now has 12 clean sheets in the league which is the most in League Two alongside Wimbledon's Owen Goodman. We only managed five clean sheets last season and 10 in each of the two seasons before that. I know that this isn't all down to Macey and that the whole team has to take a fair amount of credit for this but, despite a few errors, I think Macey has definitely had a positive influence on the defence this season. Let's hope he can get another one tomorrow night.
Can I just add that Cowley normally gets slated for the replacements he makes but for me he got it spot on on Saturday. Early in the second half with Morecambe down to 10 and defending very deep and having no attacking intent whatsoever it made perfect sense to take off Kelleher for Taylor. After we'd got the goal Morecambe were always going to have a bit more of a go and to begin with McDonnell dropped into the back four alongside Flanagan. I was calling for Tucker or another defender to be brought on so that McDonnell could move back into midfield as he's a big miss when he's not there and sure enough that's exactly what happened when Tucker was introduced.
Just a bit on Tucker, evidently the 1,000th player to play for Col U according to our old friend Laitty, thought he looked a bit shaky and got caught in possession a couple of times. Also not left footed so not quite the left sided central defender replacement for Donnelly.
Yeah he's definitely getting better with every game and hopefully the best is still to come like you say. Feel like he needs a goal or something to really boost his confidence. If only that strike against Doncaster had gone in.
The squad is down three players from December in Donnelly, Goodliffe and Woodyard. Also Jay and Greenidge have now departed, although that may not have actually saved us a great deal. We've only brought in Simpson and Tucker so you would think there's space for one more at least. Read will definitely be wanting more game time, he left Stevenage as he wasn't playing enough. Bishop has a better pedigree and more experience at a higher level but I'm not sure his performances have consistently been at that level for us yet. Saying that though Read has also looked a long way short of the player he was last season when he has played.

It's taken him a while to convince me he's ready for League Two. Swindon at home was the best game I've ever seen him play. Was hoping the Taylor influence was turning him into a better player.
You would think so, I believe he's left footed, but do we need four decent centre backs at this level though?
Reading Scott Lindsay's comments on the move it appears that Tucker won't be playing for MK again so I'd imagine this loan move is with one eye on next season for sure. I'm far happier with it now as that's exactly what we should be doing in our current position. He's got loads of experience with over 200 games and is still only 25 which in centre back terms is pretty young. With Flanagan and Kelleher both out of contract this season this move is making more and more sense to me.
Rumours are that both Luton and Millwall are close to meeting our valuation of Tovide. Would be ironic if he ended up at Luton after they sold Taylor. I know which one I'd prefer.
Bit of a strange one this. He's here to play football it seems but if he goes straight into the side it doesn't bode well for Kelleher or Goodliffe. Is this a position where we really needed to get a player in? I'm not sure myself. Would've preferred another wide player or forward personally.
I think something along these lines is far more likely. If we haven't picked up any injuries or illness I expect Terry or Hopper to be replaced on the bench by Simpson.
He was only 19 then as well. Played in the same team as Iandolo, Hunt and Payne so at least a few of our players should know what he's like. He's still a young player and could turn out to be a really good signing.
