What a performance!! on 17:24 - Jan 4 with 3738 views | richfoad32 | To a man they were magnificent, but special mention to Lund and Cavanagh, closed down and tackled everything in midfield and never allowed Leeds to build a head of steam.

What a performance!! on 17:40 - Jan 4 with 3541 views | R17ALE | Wow, wow , wow! Absolutely fantastic performance. All our players turned in an 8 or 9 out of ten, whilst their players were 5 and 6 out of ten. Henderson's goal was sheer genius - and tbf, he could have had a hat-trick. The £77,500 prize money takes our cup pot to around £200,000 with another game to come. And, this type of result/performance is the sort that might make a few local folk sit up and take notice, and even possibly encourage them to come again. This is definately a "I was there" day, I'd probably rank it behind Wembley and promotion, but ahead of Burnley (9 men 1-0), Stockport (7-2), and MK Dons (take your pick!) A big well done to the players and my MOM was Gary Lund. Any watching scouts will have this lad on their radar after today.

Matthew Lund you mean - but a mere detail. Excited about the next round now - does anyone know when it takes place? [Post edited 4 Jan 2014 17:44]

Lund produced a midfield masterclass. You won't see a better one at any level. Although as moments, reaching Wembley and going up were huge, as a one off performance is concerned I honestly can't think of a more complete performance by a Rochdale side - opposition taken into account.

What a performance!! on 17:47 - Jan 4 with 3432 views | D_Alien | In hindsight, Rose's ban gave Hilly the option (if he hadn't already thought of it) of playing the perfect formation to beat a good championship side. His best result as Barnsley manager was the away win at Leeds, so maybe he has some kind of hold over them? I fully agree that to a man, we played so well that it's impossible to choose a MoM so I'm going for Keith Hill!!! Another masterstroke was to play Bennett. He was quite brilliant - and most of our threat including both goals came from the Bennett/Vincenti combo. Vincenti - I've been sceptical about him recently - today he played out of his skin. On the left, an early foray by Matty Done showed we could open them up. That was enough - Done had his work cut out with their pacy wide man but was more than a match for him. Both goals came at the perfect time. It was possibly THE best FA Cup performance I've ever witnessed from the Dale, beating even the 2-1 against top division Coventry 43 years ago to the week. What a performance!! on 17:59 - Jan 4 with 3264 views | Shun | Sensational performance! It'd be difficult to choose a MOM as nobody had a bad or even average game, but the partnership of Lund and Cavanagh really shone. Beaming.
What a performance!! on 18:02 - Jan 4 with 3232 views | aleanddale | Fantastic today. 11 x MOM and Hilly is a Genius!! Henderson and Lund are just different gravy - How we have both on our books is credit to all at the club. Probably my best ever day watching Dale at Spotland considering the opposition and just how dominant we were. Now for a serious drink!! Get in!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Certainly at least the equal of the (first) Coventry game. The first goal was a thing of beauty, and I'm looking forward to a better view of the second on telly later. What a day to be a Daley!

I did wonder walking home if today's scalp usurped the Coventry one (I wasn't there then), so your word will do for me and I'm pleased it has too! I brought someone along today who hasn't been all season and they picked out Vincenti as our best player which surprised me a little although he was excellent. And yes, it's Matty Lund. There was a Gary Lund used to play for Notts County in the 1990's I think!

What a performance!! on 18:04 - Jan 4 with 3173 views | Daley_Lama | No Man of the match for me. How can you compare Lund's midfield powerhouse performance with O'Connells taming of the big plank from Oldham? How can you compare Vincetti's outlet with Henderson's finish? To be honest, Lillis was gash, didn't make a proper save all day.

What a performance!! on 18:05 - Jan 4 with 3171 views | BFC | Well done today 'dale! It seems you more than deserved it and took the game to Leeds, so I'm not saying this through a gritted tooth! I ( vaguely! ) recall how you must be feeling now, it's been a while for us, so make sure you enjoy it while you can - the beer will taste extra nice tonight! Decent gate too - more than the holders of the cup managed!

See you at the Plymouth game, it'll be probably be vouchers for round 4.... Hope a good percentage of those who went today will be back.

Not that I'm being defensive at all, but it was my third consecutive home game, in fact. Where were the vouchers at those!!!!!!!!!!!! Stuck in some God-forsaken corner of the Pearl Street, behind the netting I had to ask a steward to take down...............

One of the joys of today was to watch the game surrounded by unfamiliar Daleys, some of whom didn't know a Done from a Lund, but who nevertheless joined in the singing and just had such a great time. Will they be back for the bread and butter stuff? Maybe when we're putting jam on top as spring approaches!

To be honest, the voucher thing will be pointless again anyway. Plymouth is the week before round 4. Back to open sale after season ticket holders then. Yeovil away tickets may end up going for hundreds. That all said, would still make Plymouth cheaper and advertise it to high hell now the focus is on us. People will be checking the website straight after the draw is made so get something about Plymouth on there! We have a captive audience after a performance like that, it was that good people would be silly not to want more.

You can't blame people for wanting to be part of a day like today, nor for being less (or, indeed, completely un-) interested in the league. Each league-game is just a chapter in a 46-game narrative.
What a performance!! on 18:25 - Jan 4 with 2917 views | Daley_Lama | Keep your stubs is the only thing I would advise on a "just in case" basis. It wasn't a sell out today. IF we are at home and IF we get a truly big one then I reckon priority to those who were there today will be applied.

For that to work, an announcement at the end would have had to be part of the plan. You'd hope most would have kept them though. Oh and season ticket holders would be able to give theirs away and thus some there today could still miss out depending on who we get. I'd like to think that Northampton 1990 will apply, and if we get drawn at home against someone rubbish it'll still get a similar home turnout to today.

Indeed, and it crossed my mind at half time today! Apparently Dale are now America's Team after the coverage over there today. I expect a pre-season tour.
