I would have loved him to sign for us last year. £9m does seem a bit crazy though when we've signed both Chico and Amat in the meantime for less than half that.

Spurs obviously have something up their sleeve, but it shows Caulker really does care about playing games, and this will be excellent experience for him toughing it out in a top league at such a young age; the responsibility will give him every chance of realising his potential a few years down the line. We can't forget he's only 21.

I thought Caulker was outstanding for us and whilst he was here everyone raved about him, to the extent that when his loan period ended I think we would have loved it if he'd stayed. It's a very good signing for Cardiff and you'd be naive if you think it's the last. They have to strengthen and they will just like we did and continue to do so. To belittle the player and his achievements here in our first year in the premier league is quite simply farcical, and the reason, because he signed for Cardiff. Will we ever get away from our fascination on a club who have had no bearing on our own for quote a few years now?

Life is too short !!!!!!!!! Swansea til I die...........

Not that surprising, he should play every game, suspensions, injuries apart.

No worries about squad rotation.

Ideal in a world cup year.

Not ideal when you want to play for England though. Far more chance of getting in the squad on the bench for Spurs.

Did you see that ludicrous display last night?
