The ONE key moment of the season for you. Mine was Mackie's miss at 0-1 against Swans. We never recovered from that defeat

The key moment for me when i thought, hold on ,whats going on ? Is ,when we signed Cesar.
A bit trivial i know ,but for me sent alarm bells ringing that something wasnt right with our transfer policy. I know that doesnt make sense with all the other players we have brought in, and he is a great keeper. But.. Really!! we've just bought Robert Green, England no 2. Us ... QPR.
There has been tooo many key moments on the pitch for why we are down.

Lot of hindsight in this thread.

For me the moment was the West Ham home game, it was the realisation just how bad we were, how we never looked like we could score, and how we always looked like we could concede, and how we had bought names not hungry players

Villa's keeper having a blinder at home and away. 6 Points lost to great goalkeeping.

Too many to pick out one.

This season has been littered with basic errors committed by both the board and the players.

5 points lost, surely?

It's also worth mentioning the curse of Lambert. Neither Warnock, Hughes or Redknapp has been able to beat a Paul Lambert side.

Totally agree. From that day on I knew the club would be in for sterner test than last season and so it has proved. There are probably too many 'defining' moments for the clubs woeful showing this term, but I think that opening day bludgeoning by Swansea set the tone for what was in store for us.

Hughes should have been sacked immediately after that first game. To lose like that at home in the first game of the season was abysmal and a clear indication of Hughes' total failure to get a decent squad together and a team that is prepared to work for each other. Alarm bells should have been ringing from the previous season with our away record under Hughes. And when that didn't happen it's unbelievable that he wasn't then sacked after the West Ham home game fiasco. Had he been I think we would have stayed up.

Agree that the first game of the season set the tone. We've been going down slowly since then but clinging on by fingernails. The "one moment" when we went down was that sucker punch Villa goal just before halftime.

Can't help but think the boost we would have got if we'd hung on against Wigan would have given us more hope and I fear that we will look back on that as our "Cantona moment" in years to come.

I for one, refuse to yield until the task is impossible. Still plenty to play for and we have goals in us at last.

Key moment for me TF and Beards dithering over swinging the axe

Hughesless should've been chased out of town after Wham at home
There was a two week break after that game
Harry was available
Absolutely key games directly followed that match
It was blindingly obvious to anyone with an ounce of football nous that those players had lost any respect for him, had no motivation and the tactics were all wrong
IF the Taffia had gone then I think we'd of been reinvigorated and stayed up

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

Truth is that Hughes should have gone at the end of last season, we stayed up despite him not because of him. One away point during his tenure was abysmal, and that point away to Villa was the luckiest point gained, and that from being 2-0 up. Every away game the team was set up ot to lose and every away game we were over run, and that with half a team of his signings. TF and Beard should have realised this abject negativity by then. I have missed one game this season and frankly this is the most miserable of seasons that I have ever endured and it has got to the point whether following a football club is worth such misery and cost. I blame Hughes wholly and squarely for this and hope the bloke rots counting his millions.

The writing was on the wall the moment that welsh tw@t said never will qpr be in this position again. We were after the first game. Did he resign no he ripped the heart and guts out of the best players he inherited. Fernandes should have axed the lot of them after the west spam farce.

Since then we have continued to shoot ourselves in he foot - a death by a thousand cuts. Keeper blunders, sending offs, penalty misses, individual mistakes etc, etc.

Poll: Remy - can he play in the playoffs - who's opening post is the best?

'how we never looked like we could score, and how we always looked like we could concede'

The way I put it was that we always had to work for our goals, but the opposition were given theirs. I think that was why Redknapp was right to put the emphasis on defence after we went 0-3 at half time versus Liverpool. It looked like we'd finally got the balance right when we beat Southampton and Sunderland, but then we conceded 3 goals at Aston Villa and Fulham, and you can't win a match if you're conceding 3 goals.

Same with me.

Our midfield got completely bossed around, out muscled and out worked that game. And this was after all of our investment in new midfield players. I thought it was pretty concerning at the time but just hoped that it would take time for them all to "gel". Still waiting.

Chelsea home game. If we had won (and we should have) I don't think we would be in this mess. Then again Hughes showed how clueless he was as a manager in every game after that one so perhaps we would have been ****ed anyway.

Norwich away was the first time I realised just how bad we were and how much trouble we were in. Looked like a team full of strangers who had never trained together and had no idea how to play together. Then, Norwich at home felt like the final nail in a disastrous season from start to finish.

Even though we got a draw away at Norwich thanks to a dodgy pen, I think that performance was worse than the previous week's home loss at Swansea.

Appointing Hughes.

A (very) few of us said so at the time.

Don't want to say told you so - but told you so.

The 2 goals conceded in a minute away at Spurs. That game we looked decent for 50 minutes.

Southampton at home for me, too.
Not the fact that we lost. But the performance was so abject, we couldn't possibly recover from it. It saw the end of Hughes but it was already too late by then.

That was the night I knew we were going down.

The moment MH said under his watch we'd never be in this position again, then the first game v Swansea, you could see then that despite the investment, as a team we had already gone backwards

As someone else said it wasn't Hughes who kept us up last time around it was Bolton's inability to win at Stoke

Common answer but had that Bosingwa free kick gone in V villa we could have had a chance. I'm sure that would have given the team a massive confidence boost and would have made it 3 wins in a row.

Such a sad, sad heartbreaking season.

Making Liverpool look like Barcelona at the end of December was a defining moment for me. Very disappointing and we've looked doomed since.

There have been so many but the Tarbs penalty miss against Norwich is the one for me.....we have been playing under massive pressure since that game
