even though he was only here for a very short time i think alan mcloughlin was a class act.
alan johnson is a name that seems to have disappeared from alot of people's all time dale XI but remains firmly rooted in mine.
also during his first spell i think alan goodall was the best left back i have ever seen at the club. |  |

Steve Conroy, great bloke and remember as a kid standing behind the goal at the front of the Sandy and he would ask me how long to go etc. He gave me his gloves at the end of the season - always did a smiley face in the "y" on his autograph. Other fav keepers who dont appear on a lot of the all time dale XI teams would be Neil Edwards and Martin Hodge
Neville Hamilton, great little midfielder who went to Wolves and sadly had a heart attack in pre season aged only around 24/25
Bill Williams, centre half from Littleborough(?) ended up going to Stockport
