I've just, accidentally, watched a film of a sleeping woman being set on fire on a New York subway train. She died.
But not after waking up, walking to the door of the train, being passed by several people, one guy sitting in a chair watching her die, obviously someone else filming her death, all while the killer is fanning the flames with his coat.
It's harrowing.
He's now been arrested. But WTF is society coming to? Ignoring someone obviously in huge distress and not even raising an alarm let alone trying to help. Is this an American thing or could it happen here?

Fair point - I meant I actually started watching it and it was too unbelievable to stop.

unfortunaly that social network, X I believe wasnt it, has deteriated badly over the last few months with more and more of X rated stuff randomly appearing.

I saw the story but hadn't read the full details. It's horrifying that a human being can do this to another, even worse that they think he didn't even know her and it was just a random barbarous act.
I couldn't stand, or sit idly by. Those people that did, was it because they feared this obviously dangerous man would attack them and maybe he was carrying a gun? Otherwise how can you explain it? | | | |

It didn't really seem to be that they thought he was dangerous. They just seemed to ignore the situation.

A lot of these big cities it’s often considered the height of rudeness to say hello or even to make eye contact with people whilst on public transport. Last time I was in London I had to put a guy on his arse because he became very irate at me pushing and shoving me for “standing on the wrong side” of the escalator. |  |
