I’ve seen it twice, live and the replay straight after.
I thought it was a dive initially. The replay showed it could have gone either way and may just have been a tad soft.
Hackett is right though, diving, exaggerating a dive etc. should be stamped out. He didn’t say too much wrong in my eyes.

I remember the brutal racist slurs of two Welsh boxers who went up there to fight.

Franco use to go down theatrically quite often when he first got here but has wised up to the Championship but he is now taking some beatings in terms of physical contact, Ronald being a winger already knows he is going to get the full back giving him a dig and yes over exaggerates the contact at times but a good full back will test the water to see how a winger reacts to a strong challenge from behind early on knowing that most refs don't want to dish out the yellow cards that early.
Dyer roasted Patrice Evra in his fist game against him but in the second after few stiff challenges by Evra Dyer didn't want to know, Evra coached to test how Dyer would react by cheating giving fouls away risking the yellow card, playing the ref.
Ronald won the free kick that lead to the first goal and had the assist that lead to the second and yet is accused of having a quiet game, this is what your attacking players do, they can look awful trying things to deceive defenders when they don't come off but they are in the team for the times they do come off.
Cheat away as much as you want Ronald but just don't make it too obvious.
One point about making fouls too obvious was the case on Sunday where Ronald had got in front of the defenders who fell down but the freekick went against Ronald because the referee's decision must have been coloured by the fact that Ronald must be a cheat and not the fact that Ronald got the better of the defender [Post edited 26 Nov 23:08]
