Nourry should walk. 23:30 - Nov 5 with 18831 views | connell10 | I'm calling this clown out , just who is he ? He seems like a kid playing fifa , I've never been convinced by him since he pitched up. Only at Rangers could someone come in to give advice as to who should be the next CEO to decide that they actually was the right person for the oob. Its a joke . I don't like him and I wish he would take his hight tech prattle and fock off! I'll probably get pelters for this but I'm just saying what I feel.

Nourry should walk. on 02:25 - Nov 6 by Northernr | Varane?! Tonight? I'm watching different games. Look I'll focus on conciliarity points so I agree that Saito looks alright. Ran about, challenged people, punched over his weight. Probably our star man with 4/5. Varane was embarrassing tonight. Embarrassing. Aiden Morris strolled about in their midfield tonight without anybody getting within 20 feet of him. Our centre backs were constantly looking for a midfield pass to play. Varane might have liked to get involved with some or all of this. He was pathetic. |
Varane was far from the worst player. He was by himself in that midfield. There’s far bigger issues in the side than him. He could never turn with the ball when given it by the centre backs because they were all over him so had to pass back. At the other end, they had loads of space but that’s the fault of Morgan, Madsen for not pressing (if they’ve been told to of course) [Post edited 6 Nov 6:59]

Nourry should walk. on 06:28 - Nov 6 by Mr_Beef | This is a recurring theme at QPR. We're always one more transfer window, or change of manager, away from cracking it. We brought in a significant number of players into the club this summer and that really should be enough. I agree with you on his inexperience. For me it's why the club shouldn't have given him the responsibility that he's got. |
Come on mate, keep the faith! We just need a striker in Jan window. On loan will do, possibly ex-prem, over 30, over weight? Loan out a couple of our right backs. Bring in a box to box midfielder from the Greek second division. Recruit a recruitment agent to recruit a head of strategy, planning and performance to optimise our travel output expenditures. They’ll produced a fully costed road-map for the next seven years and by the time March comes around well sitting pretty in 16th. Edit: Nourry more likely to get an Uber than walk. Nourry should walk. on 06:51 - Nov 6 with 2841 views | GaryBannister86 | Seeing Seny again reminded me of just how crap we are as a football club. What did we flog him for, a couple of million at best? And to replace him we got Chelseavic and now Nardi, a good keeper but don't see anything better than Dieng there. So we probably spent that Dieng money on their wages and sign ons. We "cash in" on Dykes at a time when we have embarrassing alternative options up front. Great. What a waste of time, we never move forward.

That was abysmal last night . On the day I forked out for Watford ticket and a hotel in Bristol for the December fixture. Not sure what the horrendous Middlesbrough S**t housing was about . They could have had as many as they wanted last night. Same old story when we got the goal back . Disappeared for the rest of the game. Lots of injuries but not remotely good enough . Something rotten going on at our great club.

I see it time and time again. Madsen is a massive problem. No tackles again recorded in almost 90 mins of football. We play with 10 men off the ball when he starts. He never gets close enough to make a tackle or put pressure on the passing game. From there the midfield behind is caught in no man’s land: press and get played around, selling yourself too high up the pitch, or; drop deep and let cede possession and territory. The only way the club survives this season is to play a 3 man centre midfield or Field, Varane, Colback/Morgan. Coagulant. To do that, we need JCS back or Morrison fit. And we still have a massive problem at left back with Paal, Fox, and Ashby out. He cannot start Santos again. Who plays there, I have no idea. I suspect if JCS or Morrison are fit enough we’ll see Field at left back. Personally I’d play Saito there, so you can get that 3 man central midfield out onto the pitch.

Nourry should walk. on 06:41 - Nov 6 by corse | Im struggling with the idea that this whole team is masterminded just by Nourry and Belk. If Marti has nothing to do with these player signings then why did he sign a new contract if he was handed crap tools to work with. He must have seen that half of them are too crap and dont fit in championship. Was he just naive and thought ok i ve been handed crap so lets see what i can make out of it and if i can make it work? I doubt it. Very much. Surely he could have just walked away and found another job pretty soon with his cv. That good cv is going down the toilet at the moment. And what you see whats going on at the pitch is down to Marti. Injuries or not. Im not calling for Martis head no. But to point the finger just towards Nourry is odd when all three of them Marti, Belk, and Nourry have made some serious mistakes. |
Would you just walk away from a high paid job because you didn't agree with what your boss was doing ? Or would you sign a new higher wage contract try and do your best but then take the massive pay off when Boss Baby inevitably sacks you for his mistakes

And, as others have said, we don't know when he signed the contract. Also, Cifuentes is clearly employed as a Head Coach and in the broader football world that means he coaches the players that the club gives him to coach. I'm reading Ancelotti's book at the moment (he loaned it to me) and even Ancelotti accepts it as the decades-old norm.

Nourry should walk. on 09:05 - Nov 6 with 2413 views | qprd | Forget abt the fact that we hired a 26 yr old to be dof The fact that a kid was basicaly running an engagement as an extrrnal consultant rly highlights how clueless qpr are I work in an industry where we hire loads of these types of external consultants . The engagement is nominally led by some gray haired partner but all of the actual work is done by people in their 20s and 30s . Nonetheless the person who is put in front of the client is the older person bc they have the experience and the overall perspective while the guy in his 20s with loads of energy does all the grunt work The fact that nourry was ostensibly fronting the engagement kind of tells you everything no? We let a 24 yr old 2 years out of uni and with no job or life experience essentially provide his “expert” advice at some ridiculous cost to the club Again, it all comes down to the naivety of the ownership Finally, on belk- I do kind of feel bad for him bc he’s being scapegoated to some degree. But again, it comes down to ownership. look at clubs like Brentford and Liverpool- their stats guys have phds from Harvard or did some crazy maths course at imperial or worked in some hyper mathematical finance job…. Our analytics expert got a degree in sports science from university of wales. No disrespect to the uni or the degree but if we want a quantitative guy, at least get a f**** proper quantitative guy

Nourry should walk. on 00:05 - Nov 6 by Hunterhoop | And where is our Head of Performance, Bosh? Previously the Fitness Coach? The bloke responsible for the injury list? He’s in Dubai working for 2 other sports franchises as well as QPR. You ever heard of a fitness coach based on a different country to the team he’s the fitness coach for? Who’s his boss? Nourry. Williams was praised last year. Not adverse to criticism this one? We can’t say “great job” one year and “not your fault” the other. Standards. Consistency. Accountability. The bloke at the helm is totally out of his depth, and we’re very quick reaping the rewards of his decisions and approach. Nourry needs to go. Bell deserves to go. Cifuentes needs to stay. |
Spot on I've been thinking the same for weeks now Nourry has to take the fall for this and Hoos, Rubén and Amit need to accept they made a massive mistake employing a totally inexperienced young man for the role of CEO and bizarrely combined that with Director of Football. As somebody else highlighted on the thread Nourry is a typical front man for a company, he has blinded them all with his what can only be described as "Nourry speak", something that he hides behind because of his lack of experience. The transfer dealings in the Summer have been proved to be a shambles, surely we should have used a combination of analytics plus good genuine scouting not just working from a piece of paper. Not sure the exact number we signed but we should have attempted to make at least 3 or 4 of them have some Championship or similar level experience. Where do we go from here, we have to stick by Marti he's a good Manager, made some mistakes but working with a poor injury hit squad, as Nourry is keeping everything secret then has to take the responsibility for the poor recruitment.

Cifuentes realises he's been given a shit hand, is doing what he can with it (which as it turns out, is not very much, he's not a miracle worker). So he'll wait for his P45 and get a nice payoff and move on to the next job. While QPR goes round and round in freefall with these owners.

Nourry should walk. on 01:30 - Nov 6 by rbee | Apart from the transfer windows what else has he done that has had a major impact on the club during his short tenure? For me the transfer windows are the two major things which is why I talk about them. It's not so much reserving judgement as our hands being tied. To dismiss your CEO/DOF and Head of Recruitment on the back of one transfer window is a bit bonkers bearing in mind that the real issue for us has been the amount of injuries. |
"Apart from the transfer windows what else has he done that has had a major impact on the club during his short tenure?" You may not regard this as major, but he has lost the club revenue this season. It was his decision to sell a few hundred cheap season tickets for the lower school end rather than sell this area to away supporters. That has reduced our income by tens of thousands. I know many on this site were in favour of this move as it would improve our chances in home matches, but it never made commercial sense & has probably had a negative effecton the atmosphere in the ground.

It needs Ruben to act. He must be asking some questions of Nourry, surely?! This is the bloke who persuaded the club to have him do a full 360 review of it, presented the recommendations, and was invited to implement them as CEO with carte blanche to decide if he needed/wanted a DOF. When they aren’t working, so clearly aren’t working, surely the owner/investor would be going “err, you told me this would work!” I’m sure Nourry is pushing the line of “these changes take time”, “these signings take time”, “judge over years”, “trust the process”, etc. The risk is that if Ruben buys that, it just allows more time to go by where things get worse and getting out of the hole gets harder. And is there any guarantee of it working, or indications it will? Just a 27yr old, with no leadership or football experience telling us/him it will. It’s a ludicrous situation to be in. And a colossal failure given how we finished last season and the vibe around the club back in May.

So far this season WBA, Millwall, Coventry & Sunderland would have sold the whole of the away end & other clubs would have sold more for the lower block than we had home fans. That is a drop in income of approx £120k already! Of course, that is not a gross loss as we would have had extra expenditure on stewards etc. It was a challenge laid down to Hoos though, as he had argued against any reductions in all of his time as CEO.

Load of rubbish Giving raucous away fans 3000 tickets when a ground holds 17400 is ridiculous. Selling cheap ST is a good way to try and build the fanbase and something we should have done years ago . What has contributed to poor atmosphere is the way we have played at home for nearly 3 years !
