Watching him at the O2 tonight and can't quite believe my ears.

Great first half and in the interval has some classic ska playing. And then? Liquidator by the Harry J All Stars, ie the Chelsea song.

Nah. Love ska and rocksteady and that lot are not the only club to play that song I.e I don’t associate it exclusively with them. Like the tune but I don’t consider it a classic of the genre.

If they start playing Blue is the Colour you would be legally entitled to ask for your money back.

Last time I was (earlier spelling cock up left as only fair.... saw.... him was shortly after Brexit and he basically ranted about how stupid everyone outside London was.

Real shame as I'd previously seen him and he was very good, hopefully he's parked that and gone back to trying to make people laugh

I used to rate Bill Bailey a lot. Black Books era, the first comedy special he did as well. Excellent.

But something happened. I saw the worst episode of QI. I think the panel was him, Giles Brandreth and Sue Perkins. And I realised that Bill rises to the level of poshness in the room. So for the entire show he was doing a sort of Rowley Burkin QC sort of posh thing and it was FKING SHIT.

And since then whenever I've seen him he's been on a bit of a Ross Noble surreal thing rather than having solid set ups and punchlines. Like a more bald Noel Fielding.

Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. He runs like a cheetah, his crosses couldn't be sweeter. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore.

I think he used to do a lot of his comedy writing with Sean Lock (chelsea fan) (rip). They were good mates. Could be the reason for the music and possibly the decline of BBs comedic script.?

He was very good. I like the surreal side and that approach. The first half was more spoken word (although there were tunes), the second more music.

Sean Lock was rubbish - remember him getting heckled off stage at uni.

And he's a scummer.

I saw his Pub Walks on television recently (not comedy) where he visited The Butt & Oyster at Pin Mill.

Not as good a rating for the pub as Clive gave in his recent Away Days though!

Noel Fielding, that’s the ultimate kick in the balls.

Seen Bill Bailey live a few times and he’s excellent, but I know what you mean about his appearances on TV more recently. He’s probably cruising a bit on the back of SCD, hope it’s only temporary.

Also seen Ross Noble live. That was crap.

I can't agree with you there, his Chelsea allegiance aside.

Saw Bill Bailey at the O2 last night, gave it a 6 out of 10, seen him twice before and they were much better gigs, the material this time seemed all over the place and the continual use of the opera singer sort of didn't work for me. Saw Frank Skinner the other week in the West End and he was superb, really hit the spot.

Like Bill. We’re exactly the same age. 13/01/1965.
I have a three bedroom semi in Watford.
He’s probably got somewhere slightly bigger.
Seems like a really decent bloke.

It did feel a bit disconnected at times but I was happy with it.

I'm seeing Count Arthur Strong on Sunday and ALWAYS have a great time with his show.

Not sure I’ve ever seen a comic be as Jekyll and Hyde as Sean Lock. His stand up was awful but I loved him on 8 out of 10 cats.
