Halifax away 14:36 - Dec 4 with 23974 viewsEllDale

All pay on the day apparently with no advance ticket sales.
And no indication yet as to where Dale fans will be housed in the ground.
Sounds like a recipe for chaos to me if 800 all turn up at 2.30pm wanting change!

But then again, they have Sinclair in a back three

1-1, they're giving Armstrong a torrid time on his debut.

1-2. Penalty. Moulden brings down a Halifax player, concedes a penalty which is converted.

I've been watching football for 30 years and this linesman is the most incompetent tw*t I've ever seen.

If I was McNulty I'd probably be fined and have a touchline ban post game.

Someone needs to tell this linesman what his flag’s for……

Halifax first goal makes you wonder why we even bother with officials at this level. Absolute waste of a wage.

I left the ground at half time. Not because of the team, but I couldn't take any more of watching the most inept linesman that I have ever seen in watching the Dale in over 50 years.
He needs to be struck off. Absolutely shocking non decision making.
We are talking not inches offside, but yards. Never seen anything like it.

Possibly the most ridiculous thing I’ve read on here ever and there’s been some absolute nonsense over the years.

I was planning to leave at halftime due to family commitments, so don't upset yourself
Still a t@at linesman.
By the way, I still travelled to Halifax knowing full well that I couldn't attend the full match, so how about that then! Kel.

Finished 2-2, draw probably a fair result. Good battling performance with a somewhat makeshift team, well done lads.

Enjoyable game that. Thought if we had scored when we were on top early in 2nd half, we would have gone on to win. But all in all will take a entertaining 2-2 draw.

Which is it? You’ve quite a history of contradicting yourself on here though after a quick glance at your posts.

I forget the last time that I saw Dale lose at The Shay.
Apologies to the FGs.
We drew 0-0 there on Easter Monday in 1999 when they came back into the Football League and scored a golden goal to win an FL Trophy match in the same season.
Then there was a victory in which Jason Peake scored with that overhead kick, an August Bank Holiday 2000 win courtesy of a Gary Jones pile driver and finally the game in March 2002 made famous by Paddy’s late winner.
Some great memories.
My favourite memory though goes back to the early 1970s when we won 4-1 with Denis Butler scoring three of them. It was around this time of year, Boxing Day perhaps?

Boxing day 1970…and ended a run of five straight league losses and start of a 12 game unbeaten run in the league

I suspect that, like quite a few people, I would have settled for a point before the game.
And it was a well deserved point as well.
Hendo hit the post and a couple of times late on it seemed that Halifax had gilt edged chances.
Don’t forget that they are in a playoff place and won at Gateshead last week.
Had Dale lost though I hope that that linesman on the far side would be able to sleep tonight.
Absolutely appalling display from him in the first half.
I also thought that the game swung again in the second half when BJ swapped wingers. Some sort of change had to be made and there was nothing on the bench.
Shocking as well how Halifax players were allowed to taunt the fans after that penalty.
When the troops return from injury a playoff push is more than realistic.
Support was great too and it’s nice to see so many youngsters enjoying a day out following the team.
