Absolutely. Recalling a player who wanted to stay at Plymouth, who the manager wanted to stay at Plymouth, who still has two and a half years on his contract and who’s value has increased substantially in the past six months is short termism at it’s finest.
Unless we’re absolutely desperate for the funds now, his value and/or potential to play in our first team would only have increased by the start of next season.

I think it’s obvious it was always in the plan to try and get rid of Morgan this month or in the summer.
To avoid being unprofessional and subjecting him to the distraction of a transfer whilst at Plymouth the club rightly brought him back. For me, they weren’t that transparent about that, if Morgan had stayed at Plymouth they would complain his mind isn’t on his game, as would the fans and they would blame Swansea. The club brought him back and still got shit from Plymouth fans, and in any event their opinion hardly matters.
But it happened.
For the player and for Swansea having him at Fairwood was a much better option than at Plymouth. The club played a blinder yesterday stating he was in the squad, and Rangers have either bitten or more contact has been made. The club want 2.5 million, they will get it, that’s what they value him at and rightly so. Be that this month or in January. |  |

Accepting the possibilities of injury or massive loss in form, I think his value would only have increased playing where he was happy and productive. If Rangers had met our valuation this month while playing for Plymouth, so what? It’s only then that suffer and no more than they did with the recall.
Pre-season with us, with an eye to selling him while he’s hot, with the backup of being able to play him if someone comes in for Piroe sounds eminently sensible.

Possibly, but I’m talking about selling him at the end of the season (or selling Piroe) after a full season at Plymouth. It’s only a few months away.
