Worth a discussion?
In just a weeks time I shall be 73 yrs if age .
It’s a time of reflection Timon and sadness ,sadness for the many chums I’ve had taken to early by illness or accident.
Sometimes I feel guilty to be still around
At times I feel 20 others 120 yrs old and although it is the same brain functioning ,life changes perceptions although I believe our genetics define our temperament . I am volatile with a still nasty temper which has to be controlled . My parents were both people with explosive temperaments and I clearly have inherited that trait . I manage to do so now but it took along time.
In a word,you are what you are and can only be yourself
I wish all readers many more years on this planet,it’s the only life we ll have so live the bastud.

I've had two tests done, both were yrs ago and both came back as very low, can't remember what they were now, but the score was the same both times, Doctor said that I'm very very unlikely to suffer with Prostate issues, yet I'm up several times a night to go for a wazz, so I dunno. |
Depends what he meant by Prostate issues.
I had to get up a few times in the night, but just put it down to an old age thing. Or maybe the usual man thing of "I'll get around to having it checked sometime"
Got slowly worse, and in the end could hardly go at all.
Luckily it wasn't cancer, but an enlarged prostate, by this time even though they tried tablets first, it was too large and doubling over too seal the gap in the prostate.
Result was an op.
Each to his own, but my advice to anyone with some doubt, is get it checked.

Except for our ages , my life to a T . All my life I've been extremely fit doing various jobs which required a certain amount of fitness and more but like you now the C is back in my life after a 2 year holiday . I try not to dwell but sometimes the black dog on my shoulder appears but grateful for each a day and i have no intention of succumbing just yet . I'm more frustrated even angry that my mobility is now limited due to rheumatoid arthritis than I am about anything else but as Voltaire once stated

75 a couple of weeks ago, left knee and hip playing up, had scans recently which shows both will need replacing. Led a very active life, football, cricket, cycling ,lots of walking which now appears to have caught up.
4/5 year waiting list on NHS for replacements, been recommended to try steroid treatment to see how that goes first. |

Hi could you keep us updated, I think a knee replacement there is 12 k . my right one is shot and with no more cortisone injections available due the amount I've already had (they worked for a fortnight but reverted back to pain shortly after ) , do you know if is the steroid treatment beneficial ? I've got more scans than I can shake a stick at so hopefully they'll accept them as proof of deterioration |

I'd like to think so , but I can only speak for myself , I've had 3 scans since November but I was already in the system being monitored ( albeit a cock up on their behalf ) has delayed any treatment I'm going to have . Don't hesitate to contact the appoints line I think some waiting lists have been reset ,as in the case of my mother who needed cataracts removed but seemed to have been forgotten , all sorted now though | |

Me too, that's the problem with ageing, it's a natural decline that none of us can beat. We all just have to do the best we can.

I'm not looking forward to getting properly old to be honest, partly because of the inescapable end it takes me closer too, assuming I live that long. Mosty because this time off my life is so settled and happy. I am really close to my son, I have a good woman and even this blooming puppy has grown on me and has helped heal the scars of losing my best mate. He had me up at 5 again today but taking him for an early morning walk, just the 2 of us and even though it was raining heavily, it was nice. he's curled up with me now, head on my lap.

55 not out here, feeling the best I've ever felt in my life.
20k every single day without fail, gym 5 times a week and eat well 80% of the time. 20 % is my beer and yummy food time.
We are nudists so spend plenty of time on the beach as it was intended (starkers). Me and the wife often attend orgy's and tantric yoga sessions in the great outdoors which in itself keeps us young.
I start the day meditating and will often do 7 day fasts to clear the toxins from within.
I get a yearly service at the doctors and get my bloods done twice a year.
We have a proper water filtration system at home and grow whatever food we can ourselves.
We live out bush so rarely see anyone family friends and aquanrtnces excepted. hoping over the next couple of years we can set ourselves up to be completely off grid and out of the matrix.
Without our health we have nothing, look after it at every opportunity before it's too late. Things can and I have seen things change so quickly for people.

57 in April finished as a ref now but love my walking and setting challenges walked 500 miles in October and try and do at least two months with a million steps
