She was very fortunate to navigate past 184 rank Linda Noskova in the first round, who was a set and a break up before choking completely… she today gets obliterated by Aliaksandra Sasnovich in round 2 who is only just in the top 50.
Losing 6-1 6-1 after winning the first 6-3. Wasn’t even a contest after Sasnovich settled.
She was also knocked out of the first round of Rome in the last tournament.
I wonder if there is anyone left still claiming she is the second coming of Serena…

I reckon her sponsors must now be getting extremely p1ssed off in exactly the same way that Netflix must be with Harry and Meghan? All failed to deliver with extremely poor value/returns for the multi-millions deals that all received. Put their money on the wrong horse?

It’s very simple. British tennis watchers are desperate for a new star to cheer for at Wimbledon now that Sir Andy is done . There is a dearth of female tennis players in Britain and it still seems a class issue. Can’t recall any working class, council estate bred woman getting anywhere near professional.
We have enough coaches but it is still riddled with class
On Wirral,we have some not particularly posh clubs but it still does not attract young females to play . It is cultural.Clearly.
This girl was freakishly lucky to win that major. She will never win another as she has no bottle . That she was voted SPOTY is sickening really .

No offence
She could only beat who was in front of her. It’s set her up for life even if she is a bit crap she’s achieved more than most.

I wonder how many of the contacts are performance related.
She’ll probably have some great advertising and sponsorship opportunities. Grand slam winner. SPOTY winner. Nice looking girl with a beautiful smile. I wouldn’t describe her as callipygian though.

What is the current state of the courts down Langland these days ?, how much is a game and what's the story with car parking, can you put actual coins in a meter down there ?

It will dry up as they wake up to the reality that she isn’t the player many seemed to believe she was. Their fault for not doing their homework and jumping on a bandwagon.
There are plenty of potentially great players coming through that are marketable. Unless she improves dramatically she will be forgotten very quickly.
Ignoring Swiatek as she has now emerged as a household name and potentially among the greatest of all time in waiting…. Gauff, Anisimova, Fernandez, Andreescu and Tauson are all well ahead of Raducanu in terms of long term potential and ability. She would be rightful underdog against all of them if they played tomorrow, and all a similar sort of age (Gauff and Tauson are younger).

She won’t be forgotten. Sue Barker won a grand slam about three centuries ago and she’s been everywhere since.

Fair enough.
Happy to take your view on all things tennis.
He doesn't know nothing at all about tennis, I seen Emma play her first round at Wimbledon on the box and thought wow that girl has potential, I commented on it in here, Emma went on to go relatively deep in Wimbledon and then won the US Open.
P didn't like it that her potential was spotted after one game on here, as regards her future it's too early to tell, I certainly would not categorically rule out her winning again as she has proved she has the potential.

Raducanu Grand slam winner, well done girl and now there is nothing anyone can do about that.
Why would anyone want to do anything about it?
She also gets knocked out of most tournaments in the first and second round and there doesn’t appear that there is anything anyone can do about that either… hence the problem.
Don’t let it upset you.

Play fair a Grand slam winner credit where credit is due well done Raducannu no one can ever take that away from her.
.
You seemed to have missed the point, yet again.
Just as Raducanu has done, far too often, yet ever so predictably so since her one-off Grand Slam fluke. Fair play.

Raducanu was the woman that beat the woman that beat the woman and was the last woman standing.
Stephen Bradbury was the last man standing to win speed skating gold for Australia too.
He was still the worst skater on the ice and extreme luck is now called “doing a Bradbury”. It happens from time to time, good on her - however talk of being the next Serena as I said at the time was laughable. She won’t get near another slam let alone win 20.
