I think we'll survive, probably because there are teams worse than us at this moment in time, but the long term effects of our performances need to start being addressed. Home crowds are dropping substantially, the football isn't especially enjoyable (apart from seemingly to opposition managers) and we risk a real sense of apathy amongst the fans and town if we don't start being a bit more exciting.
Big few weeks ahead.

A lot of keyboard anger on here right now.
38 points from 33 games, 7 points from the last five. 4 of the five bottom teams have got nine points between them in their last 20 matches.
Basically, I won’t be loosing my lunch about our league status any time soon.
By my reckoning that would give 56 points, probably enough to survive and for that I would be grateful ...but, its cutting things fine and as everyone at or near the bottom gets ever more desperate, the team that doesn't know how to scrap will lose out to the ones that do, look back to last season... can we scrap? There is little evidence, we are, after all, top of the fair play league!

Can't argue with that one.
A very fair assessment as always from a very level headed and honest man, its just pretty alarming how we're still talking about the same problems that ultimately have rumbled on for far too long, and even before RS arrived.
You don't need to look too far to see why our home crowds have dwindled so much, the last few times I've been it's been mind numbingly boring and negative, very similar to BBMs time when we seem to be bogged down with rigid nonsense tactics and holding certain players back by overcomplicating a simple game.

He can say what he wants but we've finished the game with 5 defenders on the pitch when you could see it wasn't working from about 10 minutes in. Hes as much to blame as any of the players are
Possession with progression.

As in the very first time we played at a ground/club was it a win lose or draw. However understand much more pressing priorities. Looking forward to reading the forthcoming editions.

The excuse for playing a back five is that O’Keeffe isn’t good enough in a four, he’s not even playing now yet we’re persisting with it. I honestly don’t get it & I’ve said it all season. Football is a very simple game complicated by managers. Off the field activity is no excuse for the dross we are being served up on a weekly basis, granted occasionally we get a positive result but on the whole we are a very poor team. Realistically speaking this is the worst version of us that we have seen since Graham Barrow and we have invested a substantial amount of money in this dreadful squad.

Of course silly me. I thought there was some magic bit of jiggery pokery you could do with the TVOS spreadsheet. Sorry wasn't expecting you to trawl through teems of results.

The ghosts of the latter years of Keith Hill and BBM still stalk the corridors of the COA. A club short of ideas and cash grasping at the notion that we will only survive by selling players, and that we can only sell players who play in the stylee of Manchester City. So the whole club becomes inexpert, robotic tippy-tappy devotees irrespective of results. The results are actually shite but the system is now firmly embedded so everyone pretends everything is OK, it seems no one looks at the results except those pesky supporters for whom results are the ONLY thing that matters. What you end up with is 1500 missing fans and a declining income stream. Back to square one.... 442, a decent keeper a brute of a centre back, preferably 2, and a big 6 foot five lump up front. and 2 pacey wingers. 10 players who run, tackle and shoot on sight every game for 95 minutes. for Gods sake give us something to get excited about!
This isn't a dig at the new board or Stockdale, well, maybe at Stockdale, but time isn't on our side, its simply not viable to win 1 home game in 4 over the last 100 home games and then hope to start winning 3 out of 4 to stay in the division. 39 points to play for, 20 needed.. Draws will not do it.
Why do we need 20 points? That will take us to 58, which last season would have seen us finish where we are now. Southend and Grimsby went down with 45 and 43 in 2020/21.
By the way, when BBM took over in 2018/19, we won four of our last six home games, so while I'm not disagreeing with you that the statistics aren't on our side, to say it isn't viable simply isn't true, as what has gone in the previous 100 games doesn't necessarily mean that's what will happen in the next two months.

No, it would involve quite a bit of work for something that's not really relevant or interesting.

Looking at the stats on sky, pretty damning for possession based football. Ironic Pep Guardiola saying this week you can't judge a player by statistics.

Sorry 49th but can you explain your '1500 missing fans' comment?
Our highest average attendance in recent years was in the 19/20 season (under BBM of all people) where we were averaging approximately 550 fans more than we are getting this season.
When you factor in the fact we're now playing the likes of Sutton and Harrogate rather than Sunderland and Bolton which massively impacts the away followings, plus the affects of the pandemic, I find it hard to believe that more than a few hundred fans, at an absolute maximum, are keeping away due to the style of play or results. Also worth noting that our average attendance this season, at this point, is higher than it was in our last League Two season. A season in which we won promotion.
Crowds are slowly decreasing over the course of the season, that much is obvious and needs to be addressed, but to say we have 1500 missing fans atm seems to be quite the overstatement.
Tangled up in blue.

The recent form of teams in The bottom half of league two is atrocious. over the last 5 games played the twelve teams combined have won a total of 11 out of 60 games.
7 of those eleven wins are among three teams (ourselves, carlisle and Walsall)
Only one win by teams in the bottom five, and that isnt Barrow.
We have the third best record (2 wins and a draw) behind Carlisle.
Carlisles three wins have all been against bottom half teams. Walsalls 2 wins have both been against top half teams
Have I just tweaked the football gods prior to Saturdays game?
