Is the trend going to continue ? 23:07 - Nov 13 with 3527 views | ladyjack | Is the trend of Labour voters voting Conservative/Brexit party and Conservative voters voting for the Labour party going to continue ? and will it continue in enough numbers for seats to change hands ? Is the trend going to continue ? on 09:59 - Nov 14 with 2248 views | Catullus | Traditional party politics has been given a good kicking, this may not be a trend anymore it may well be a long term thing. As long as the brexit shenanigans keeps going anyway and that could easily be a decade .

Is the trend going to continue ? on 10:12 - Nov 14 with 2221 views | jojaca | I have been Labour supporter for all of my voting life and I will never vote for them again, neither will I ever vote the Tories. After the Brexit fiasco which I strongly believe they should honor the result, I won't vote again if Brexit is not carried out.

Now that's the part so many people don't get. You can disagree with the result of any vote but you can't ignore it, ride roughshod over it or subvert it, once you do then democracy is damaged. Ignore or subvert one vote and what's to stop it happening again, you can't pick and choose. The answer isn't to keep having votes until we choose the way the politico's want either.

Yes the vote was for no deal, the vote was for out, not half in half out but out, people did not and many still do not want nothing at all to do with Europe, out means and meant out.

We can disagree on that, we voted leave and a deal was promised. That was our mistake, no not voting leave but putting any faith in a politicians promise.

There wasn't another option besides leave on the ballot and we were told a deal would be done. Not just would be done but would be easy, again we trusted politicians but not many do anymore.

I know loads of leave supporters and out meant out, most people pay lip service to politicians and don't watch political programmes or read political articles in newspapers etc, they wanted out, two world wars against the Germans mind you and as regards the French, the French and English have always been at each others throat for centuries, the people voted out and unless there is a no deal Brexit the will of the people will not have been done.

Ah yes, the ‘democracy’ argument again! Apparently it’s wrong to suggest that a very badly worded question with no thought for the ramifications, backed up by proven lies, promoted by people and organisations who will profit greatly from the outcome and achieved by breaking numerous democratic rules is, in itself undemocratic. Then, unlike the ridiculous number of times the same questions can be put to parliament in the off-chance that more MPs have changed their minds/been convinced which side their ‘bread is buttered’/bought off, it is preposterous to think it is fair for the people to have changed their minds and that a better worded referendum question, with full knowledge of what Brexit looks like would be actual democracy in action! If you haven’t got the attention span required then don’t vote. How many of the 52 out of 100 voted that way because of the lies that were spouted? I can’t abide the argument that the vote in 2016 was the greatest democratic exercise in our history. How any decent Welshman/woman/Brit can get taken in by Johnson/Gove/Farage/Francois/right wing newspapers and not realise they are dangerous and in it for themselves is beyond me. Any person or organisation in Britain that has backed this ridiculous movement that is proved to have profited from brexit by ‘going short’ should have all assets stripped like you would any criminal and their proceeds of crime. If Boris and the Conservative party is proven to have taken ‘donations’ from Russian entities..........

We'll have to agree to disagree then because unless you know the opinion of all 17.4 million (and nobody does) then it's impossible to say. The ballot question was too simplified and we should have been asked remain or leave, if leave then deal or no deal, but we weren't.

Is the trend going to continue ? on 11:02 - Nov 14 with 2133 views | Wingstandwood | Apparently, according to Rod Liddle in today's Sun nearly 40% of people who voted for Labour in Yorkshire will not do so this time around. That is an absolutely staggering figure. That is what happens when working class voters are branded Nazi, thick, racist, fascist, far-right and uneducated by affluent white collar middle class Labour snob types. Labour are in for a seismic shock come election time!

Very close to my thoughts. Each of the people who voted leave did it for their own reasons and many may accept some sort of deal as long as their reason was covered.

Labour is the party of the middle class snobs these days and the Tories are the party of the working class, you cant make it up but that is what is happening, that is why I started this thread to point out that there is this undercurrent that is happening, will things totally switch in time with red becoming blue and blue becoming red who knows, lol.

The referendum was advisary, not legally binding, it was advice to mp,s ok they said they would honour it but they failed because people had different ideas of what brexit is, I agree Mays deal and Johnson's deal is not brexit, even farage admits it's worse than staying in, what should happen now is second referendum, but this time legally binding, stay or leave under wto

This is one of the most dangerous arguments I've heard. If, as is distinctly possible, a Tory-majority parliament leads the UK to economic disaster, it would be naive to assume that that would lead to a socialist government on the rebound. Far more likely is a descent into outright fascism. There's nothing so unique about the Weimar Republic that can't be repeated here. This is the most important election in all of our lifetimes. Avoiding a majority Johnson-led government should be the priority of every person concerned about the direction of travel we've embarked on with the snake-oil merchant Tories.

Isn't it just. The government's Brexit deal that involves removing workers minimum rights SHOULD be the wake up call to all working class people. If Brexit is going to be so glorious for the country then why are the government insistent on this ? THEY put it in, not the EU.
