Was looking at this earlier. What does being a trust member entail? Obligations? Benefits? Just looking for some more info.

£10 for the 2018-19 season.

Obligations - none whatsoever.

Benefits?

We will work with the club on behalf of the supporters. We have the formal Questions with the Directors evenings in which we'll ask questions on behalf of the members to the board and we have several informal meetings with them to on an adhoc basis. We will speak to the club about any pressing matters or things that fans feel strongly about.

We held a number of events last year. At the top of my head, we had a Quiz Night, Fans Forum, Footgolf competition, Curry Night, Exiles Day, Sponsored Walk, Xmas Party and there's probably others too.

You can win a player's shirt if you take part in the Player of the Month competition. We have three matchball sponsorships each season in which we invite a Dale legend back to the club and we have a members' draw to see which members get to join them.

You get a emailed newsletter once a month, which is mostly us banging on about Easyfundraising and how much it can raise funds for the Trust. That and pics of RoccyDaleIan depending on who he's sharing a picture with that month.

And you get a shiny membership card too.

All for a tenner. There's plenty of details on the website about stuff that took place over the course of the past season.

I asked Col the same question recently. I think it's really just anyone who lives far enough away not to be able to get to every home match. Exiles come from far and near to the annual gathering at the Dale. At the recent game v Portsmouth we had exiles from Nigeria, Scotland, Wales, East Anglia and a few like me stuck on the wrong side of the Pennines.

There's no limit to it. If you consider yourself an exile, then you're an exile. Don't think we've ever got the map out to try and preclude anyone from being an exile.

Perhaps the Club should consider that comment when defining the issue of Country Season Tickets.......if they did, they might sell more?

The club should just sell "mini" season tickets too regardless of the distance to your home,it makes more sense to have more peoples money up front too and more potential fans in the stadium each game

I've rejoined the Dale Trust, and took up the repeated renewal scheme because our supporters organisation is well worth it. It's "officials" are Dale through and through, active and effective. Not bucket puppets like another fans organisation up the road are. JOIN!!

UP THE DALE

A very good question!

I've just rejoined as well.
I had a good natured discussion with a lovely lady at the club about country membership last year.
She advised that you had to live 25 miles from Spotland, I give her my postcode and she said that this was 23 miles.
I remarked that it was further if you had to rely on public transport which went the long way round!

Just auto renewed. Having been involved with the Trust for a few years previously I know the tireless efforts that are put in voluntarily to provide a voice for supporters. Our club is a good one, but there are always opportunities to listen and learn and the Trust provides a way whereby the collective voice can be heard.

It has. I was actually on my way to the club earlier this year, with the intention of joining, but circumstance intervened. Next time, I will join.

I thought the idea was to make things SIMPLE this time......why have stupid stumbling blocks that preclude folks parting with their hard-earned money, it's just basic sense for both parties.

My phone provider are always trying to stitch me up with "bundles" offers.......take a leaf out of their book!
