Roque Mesa 19:22 - Dec 23 with 23935 views | biggar | Surprised at a lot of these comments on the above. Apart from one daft bit of play in the first half I thought he was possibly our best player. For the life of me I just cannot understand the amount of people slating him. Bizarre. I don’t need a trip to specsavers so god knows what game some people were watching.

Roque Mesa on 18:42 - Dec 24 by jasper_T | Ki has been better this season overall. Without one or both our midfield has looked useless. |
I agree on Ki, but we'll miss Mesa over the games he's out, Fulton is our best option probably, Mesa, Ki and Fer all injured the cupboard is bare.

Roque Mesa on 19:16 - Dec 24 with 3221 views | Rancid | I went down Fairwood to watch the boys train this morning and Leon had Mesa doing 100 yard sprints all session carrying a full bucket of water in each hand.Poor sod looked fooked but its his role so hes got to do it to the best of his ability. He spilled quite a bit tbh.Deschamps never spilt a drop right through his career.Quality see and the diffefence.

Roque Mesa on 22:30 - Dec 24 with 3092 views | Rancid | Leighton James was our best player for a few years and one of the best in the country for a while. He was my Swans hero in the 80s stood out there on the flank and cutting inside but then I met him and soon forgot all that.Toshack was similar.

I don't know if he was better than Robbie or Habziabdic. He was very good for us though Rance

Roque Mesa on 09:42 - Dec 25 with 2912 views | trampie | I thought Leighton James was Swans best player for a couple of seasons, had the most ability, he was my favourite Swans player of that era. I don't get the Anglo Saxon fascination with players of limited ability that run around a lot and try hard but have no ability or craft.

Robbie James and Dzemal Habziabdic Anglo Saxons? And no craft either? At one point I thought you were older than me but if you are you can't possible have seen those three play and come to the conclusion that Leighton James was better than the other two. I know people like you like to WUM to get reactions but you really are making yourself look very stupid with statements like that.

Robbie and Jimmy weren't Anglo Saxon or Anglo Saxon type players, they were extremely talented players, I would go Leighton #1, Robbie #2 and Jimmy #3 in my list of favourite Swans players.

Favourite players yes. But the other two were far more talented then Leighton James. He wouldn't get near either of them in terms of skill, class or ability.

Leighton James had more skill, class and ability than Robbie and Jimmy, hence Leightons position on the field in those days wingers used to take on the opposition and of course Leighton was a record signing for the Champions of England.

Top ten Michu Bodde Allen Britton Curtis James r James l Hutchison Hadziabdic Callaghan I see Mesa as having some potential to get in the top ten or maybe top twenty. We really needed to see him with Siggy and Llorente last year. Clucas did okay. Tammy doesnt offer Mesa what Bony does. Too few options for Mesa. We saw how Ayew almost opened up the defence for Clucas in the last ten minutes. I think there is some hope and we do have strength in depth with Fulton Carroll and Clucas if the others are still injured. [Post edited 25 Dec 2017 10:34]

"That lad's pace is deceptive" Tommy Docherty "Aye, he's slower than he looks." Would love someone that good on the wing for us now though.

Is the correct answer..... Robbie is and always will be a true legend. Although I was only a kid, he was "The Man". Plain and simple. And for the record, I always preferred Curts to Leighton any day!
