tomorrow can't come quick enough 14:17 - Oct 16 with 2272050 viewsbatman

Not for us, but for Bury.
i was credit checking a potential customer and decided to nosey onto
BFC's file and was (or maybe not) supprised to see a new CCJ for circa £22k lodged
only Wednesday this week.
looks like they are in need of a bumper crowd tomorrow to settle some bills

I wouldn't rule it out at all - in fact, the available evidence points towards Bury FC being used as a front for the servicing of multiple business debts via various companies. Day's own verbal splurges have included the fact that being in his position gives him a profile and therefore leverage in the business world. In this situation, the only way to maintain that profile is through continued success. He'll know more than anyone that if it doesn't work he can walk away without a penny owed. The fact that football finance seems to operate under different rules to business finance allows him to get away with this, but only for so long.

In return, people will almost certainly lose their livelihoods. That's the point I made last week about Flicker's involvement. You'd have to be incredibly naïve not to understand that money just doesn't grow on trees.

All reminds me of that young 21 year old kid who became Chairman of a Southern club and was dancing a round the Spotland pitch for the cameras with scarf and ball when it was announced to the world before the game.

Was it Gillingham or Colchester ? Can't remember in truth, but that didn't have a happy ending.

Big egos, persuasive tongues and no real ideas of how to exist in the real cut and thrust business world.

I was under the impression that he uses Bury to minimise his tax liabilities for the more profitable parts of his business empire.

Some of the high interest rate loans he has taken out stink of tax avoidance as interest repayments are tax deductible. If one of his shell companies lends to another at a high interest rate it is a win, win situation.

Spencer Trethewy - Aldershot.

We proceeded to beat them 4-0.

Not me, as WirralShaker seems to think. Knowing the name 'Spencer Trethewy' appears to pass as hard evidence in his world.

And I don't know anyone called Harry.

Talk about having a persecution complex.

The stories are out there for all to see. They seem to think the Trethewey/Day story is an invention of Dale fan origins.

They're wrong. He's a real person with a real and worrying history.

Tax avoidance, tick. Debt servicing, tick. CCJs, tick. People's livelihoods at stake further down the chain when debts aren't repaid, tick.

Either way, it's lunatic behaviour.

Watching that thread develop leads to more questions than answers.

Forget it's Bury for a moment, at what point did any of the decisions made by the representative(s) of the supporters get put before members to vote on? What if the members didn't want their organisation's role at the club to change? Were they notified of any proposed changes in advance of them happening? There may be valid answers to all these questions. FAO. R11 BFC, could you shed any light on any of this?

Far too many mentions of the word 'I', it should be 'we' every single time.

I'm with the Bury fans on that one, really didn't see the link with what happened at Aldershot. My main memory of that time was being annoyed the game was in doubt in the lead up to the start of the season.

That and Aldershot wearing an older Ribero shirt template which was the same as the one we'd use as a third kit at Hartlepool not too long after.

I cant believe they are justifying the loss of their proper influence and voice in the boardroom with the argument "At least if things go tits up she wont be liable for any of the debts".
