REDBIRDS DEBT ? 19:22 - Nov 6 with 7068 views | pikeypaul | The REDBIRDS debt stood at £118 million when the accounts were released last January 10th. What is your guess it will stand at this year bearing in mind it is up to May 31st 2014 I will take a stab at £138million. Also FFP may well kick in to them soon with a transfer embargo on the horizon. [Post edited 6 Nov 2014 19:25]

Why a rule that didn't even exist at the time obsesses the Basseys so much I have no idea, but if they didn't have their crumbs of comfort to cling onto they probably wouldn't have an awful lot going for them at all. |
The CVA went through in March 2002 We ended that season with 51 points, Halifax were the only side relegated with 36 points?

Was it only one side that year? We'd have finished one off the bottom one 41 points with -10. If it was only one team down then Scoobs is even wronger than he was before, and that's saying a lot.

REDBIRDS DEBT ? on 19:37 - Nov 8 with 1033 views | monmouth | Why on earth is anyone arguing with someone whose sh1t team is 12th in a sh1t league about why they are so sh1t when we are a respected and accepted premier league success? I don't really get it to be honest. They had their season, they shot their bolt, they came, they saw, they fuc^ed it up. They are done. You might as well argue with a Bradford dork about how it all went wrong for them in their short lived heyday and yet all went right for us. You'd definitely get more sense than from this lot of gaping anuses. Still don't let me stop you. They certainly have nothing else to gawp at. Nil-Nil with Brumagem, one of the worst teams in championship history....Slade's their number one! For us...IT'S CHRISTMAS...

Yep the 2001/2 season was the last season where only one side was relegated from the league We would have finished 23rd you are right but only Halifax were relegated So the straws being clutched can be released Scoobs

REDBIRDS DEBT ? on 19:19 - Nov 8 by ScoobyDoo | Now where did he say he was going to loan us £100 mill? I thought he said he was going to invest that amount. Yes he said he would only invest if we changed colour, some were for it and some weren't, now being you know so much about our club you will know what happened when a group was formed to oppose it, now the ones that threatened that group are very quiet . One minute you say we welcomed these leeches to our club then you say any owner can come through the door? Make your mind up. Shameful club, shameful fans? A club that payed for your supporters to attend a game at Ninian and fans who dipped their hands in their pockets to donate to a fellow Welsh club when it came begging for money! Some people have short memories, well you lot have. |
So you are telling me you thought he was going to gift you £100m?? Really?? I told you at the time it is a ridiculous notion. Its the same as when Sam lent you money, you all closed your eyes to it as it was "investment". Sooner or later you will look up the word investment, a cash injection to recoup the initial amount and more. If you genuinely believed a foreigner was going to gift a championship club £100m then you deserve everything you get. I stand by my statement. Any owner can come in, fans are powerless in that department. However once its clear they are not running the club with the clubs interests foremost then the fans can do something... As we did. You still haven't. As for not being a shameful club because you paid for some buses... Jimmy saville also gave a lot of money to charity and he was still a shameful example of human life. Im amazed you are trying to compare really.

Just about sums you up to bring Jimmy Saville into a football debate. You conveniently left out the begging bowls, ask Phil he will probably say it's in that book he generously offered me but somehow i think whoever wrote the book left that little ditty out.

What so he never existed then did he? It was an example to show people can give charitable donations and still be awful examples of what they are. But a nice out to use when your back is well and truly up the wall. Glad you have given up the ghost trying to compare your shameful position which still is continuing today with our situation where we showed fans CAN successfully stand up to owners and what an example of a football club we have become as a result.

The accounts last shown definitely had someone else owed nearly half the debt. Perhaps Tan wouldn't give him money but allow him onto the board and bring the Langstone debt with him. This would give Sam a 40% stake would it not? Perhaps Sam is ferreting about for money so buy Tan's debt and hence regain control of the club?

REDBIRDS DEBT ? on 13:00 - Nov 8 by Parlay | What are we supposed to not like being reminded of again? That if a rule that didn't exist - existed, then we would have been relegated? Thats like saying if I was alive when the dinosaurs got hit by the comet then I probably wouldn't have survived. Do excuse me for not losing any sleep over something that didn't exist at the time of the event. The fact is, we were not happy with our chairman so ousted him immediately. You guys ASKED to be stripped of your colours for some cash loans to buy players with, you rejoiced at millions of pounds being spent in your name, your whole stadium waved red scarves at a home match, you all loved it when promoted singing songs about us on your promotion parade. You were an embarrassment to the Premier League and then started bleating about the red etc (Two, yes TWO, years after the event). You are a mess of a club from top to bottom and will continue to be so as any sort of limelight is craved by the fans over the wellbeing of the club. Anyone that offers some exposure and some cash will be met with giddy excitement even if the cost is handing big chunks of the clubs heritage and dignity. You are the football leagues shameless casting couch. [Post edited 8 Nov 2014 13:34]

Half the debt owed to someone else? Not sure where you got that from. You may be right, can't remember a single person claiming that on any Cardiff boards - and it would have been jumped all over if true. Shareholding is easy enough to check, Langston ooops Hammam do not have 40%. Tan has virtually all the shares, small shareholders and one director aside. Hammam would have to check down the back of a lot of sofas to find the cash. EDIT: Just googled. Seems media claim half the debt is to Tan. Not sure how accurate that is - still say it would have been documented on forums and checked. [Post edited 9 Nov 2014 11:38]

REDBIRDS DEBT ? on 12:10 - Nov 9 with 615 views | Sweyns_Eye | Scooby, I’ve watched you wriggling in this thread so you might be interested in some further detail as you seem to be quite exercised by the Swans being sold for a £1. In July 2001, the then owners for Swansea City were Ninth Floor. Current club debts at that time were around £800,000. For whatever their reasons, Ninth Floor wanted out so agreed to sell the club (including its assets and liabilities) for £1 to the then chairman Mike Lewis. Part of the agreement of sale was that Mike Lewis would repay this £800K to Ninth Floor. Lewis intended to sell the club as quickly as he could and it was he who sold it to Tony Petty. To spell it out simply for you, the club was sold for a £1 as the liabilities exceeded the club assets and income. The owners didn’t want to put any more money in, but wanted to get out what they could. Can you think of another club in a similar situation whose owner might be regretting his decision to buy it? What value would you put on this club?
