Swansea City v West Bromwich Albion, plus Villa winger out of reach

This morning we focus on a game which has lost itself to what we can call ‘football fatigue’ Especially after some of the extraordinary fall out after Luke Williams press conference yesterday afternoon. Unbelievable nonsense on one of the other websites, faceless, nameless and very obsessive.

Very concerning ? No, absolutely hilarious.

The Swans this afternoon take on West Bromwich Albion in a game which (for now) takes the attention away from off the pitch matters. The Swans have Ben Cabango out, which current head coach, Luke Williams has confirmed. Franco will have a late screening on his dental injury, he was certainly missed at Portsmouth, however he could easily make the squad. Cabango’s replacement we think will be Cyrus Christie in a more flexible Swans defence. Josh Key has to return to the starting eleven, and Joe Allen could feature today, he will be a welcome option. It really does highlight the lack of depth in the Swans squad that options are very limited in reserve, even replacements. When the first choice team is vulnerable there is little in the tank to encourage confidence.

Maybe now we can see the club operate of the pitch in the right way. We also have to congratulate Chairman, Andrew Coleman for the way he has gone about his business this week. His brief and final comments on the weeks ups and downs carefully worded.

⚽️ Latest transfer news we have is that winger Lewis Dobbin who has been at the Baggies this season on loan from Aston Villa won’t be coming to Swansea City on loan, despite interest from the club. He is expected to sign for Norwich City. Whilst he played for West Brom in seventeen games he didn’t get a goal or an assist this season.

The Baggies are without a manager still, not sure if you knew that. Chris Brunt remains in temporary charge and looks again to Kyle Bartley to hold his defence together. Star man for us is Ousmane Diakite in midfield. Karlan Grant, remember him ? He was the end of January plant in 2023 during the last minutes of deadline day. The signing that was never going to happen. He’s on top form this season, not just in front of goal but in his overall game. He had a good season at Cardiff last campaign - on loan, but this season, especially over his last ten appearances, he has been excellent. Our weak spot candidate is Captain, Jed Wallace. The Swans can expose him on the right of the Baggies midfield, Eom and Tymon should be able to break down that side of the Baggies line up. It very much all depends if anyone in the centre of the attack can take advantage of the chances that come their way.

And they will.

Believe it or not the Swans are very slight favourites today, on the Baggies the manager betting is surprising after yesterdays disclosures. That will be why it’s all fake news probably …

Take nothing for granted, and come on the Swans !
